Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about Holiday Apartments Browar Lubicz? The name makes it sound way more corporate than it actually is. I mean, when you’re walking down Lubicz street – which honestly feels like you’re in this perfect sweet spot between the tourist chaos and actual Krakow life – you almost miss the entrance at 17A. It’s tucked into this beautifully restored building that has that solid, pre-war Polish architecture feel without being stuffy about it.

The apartment I stayed in was… well, let me put it this way: someone actually thought about how people live, not just how hotels think people should live. The kitchen wasn’t just for show – I could actually cook a proper meal, which came in handy since there’s this fantastic little market on Hala Targowa just a few minutes walk away (locals shop there, so you know the produce is legit). The bathroom had one of those rainfall showers that didn’t feel like a gimmick, and honestly, after walking around Krakow’s cobblestones all day, that’s exactly what you want. What really sold me though was the living space – it felt like staying in a friend’s well-appointed flat rather than some sterile hotel room. The windows are big enough that you get proper natural light, and if you’re lucky enough to snag one of the higher floors, you’ll catch glimpses of the Vistula through the neighborhood rooftops.

Here’s the thing about the location that booking sites won’t tell you: you’re literally a ten-minute walk to the Main Square, but you’re far enough from the Floriańska street party zone that you can actually sleep at night. The Grzegórzki neighborhood has this lived-in quality – there’s a great little café called Karma Coffee just around the corner where you’ll see more laptops than tourists, and the tram connections are fantastic if you want to explore beyond the Old Town bubble. Parking was surprisingly straightforward too, which anyone who’s driven in Krakow will tell you is basically a miracle. The staff seemed to genuinely know the city rather than just reciting rehearsed recommendations – they pointed me toward this incredible milk bar on Starowiślna that I never would have found otherwise. Look, with a 9.6 rating, you’d expect it to be good, but what surprised me was how effortlessly comfortable the whole experience felt. It’s the kind of place where you unpack properly instead of living out of your suitcase, you know?

  • Fabulous stay. Will 1000% book again. – Leander from United Kingdom – November 3, 2024 (10/10)

Fabulous property. Attentive host. Spotlessly clean and very modern one bedroom apartment with every amenity needed. Very secure building and didn’t feel unsafe when returning in the dark.
Literally a beautiful few minutes walk to the centre. Highly recommend and we are planning to stay again.

What could be improved: Our only gripe was the pillows having no filling, or separated filling which made them unsupported and flat. All of them were the same. Other than that everything was 10/10
