Plus decent water pressure, which… well, let’s just say that’s not always a given even at higher-end places. The 8.4 rating makes total sense once you settle in; everything just works the way it should, without unnecessary bells and whistles cluttering up the experience.

What really won me over though was how the hotel sits in its surroundings. It’s not trying to be a destination unto itself – instead, it feels like a really good base camp. The neighborhood has that lived-in quality where you’ll find actual locals grabbing coffee in the morning, not just tourists following guidebooks. I stumbled across this little bakery two blocks over that clearly supplies half the business district with their morning pastries, and there’s a wine bar tucked into a side street that the concierge mentioned (and was absolutely right about). The area gets pleasantly quiet after business hours but isn’t dead – there’s still enough foot traffic that you feel comfortable walking around in the evening. Parking was actually manageable too, which in a city center location is honestly half the battle. Look, Hotel Apis isn’t going to be the story you tell about your trip, but it’s going to be the reason you’re well-rested and in a good mood for all those stories you will tell.
