Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect from Hotel Copernicus when I first walked up to it, but the moment you step inside, you get it – this place has that rare combination of old-world elegance and genuine warmth that you just can’t fake. The lobby has this incredible sense of history, with these gorgeous exposed stone walls and arched ceilings that make you feel like you’re stepping into something special. I mean, you can tell they’ve put serious thought into every detail here, from the way the lighting hits those medieval stonework features to the perfectly worn leather chairs that actually look like they belong, not like someone ordered them from a catalog.

What really struck me was how the staff seemed to genuinely know their stuff – not in that overly rehearsed way you sometimes get at luxury hotels, but more like they’re actually proud of the place and want you to appreciate it too. The rooms are something else entirely; mine had these thick stone walls that kept everything whisper-quiet (you know how rare that is in historic buildings), and the bed was honestly one of those “I don’t want to get up” situations. The bathrooms are beautifully done too – they’ve managed to blend modern comfort with the building’s character in a way that feels natural, not forced. There’s this attention to detail that you notice in small moments, like how the towels are the perfect weight and the water pressure is actually strong, which sounds trivial until you’re in some other “historic charm” hotel with a trickle of lukewarm water.

The location turned out to be perfect for exploring on foot – you’re right in the heart of things but on a quieter street, so you don’t have that constant buzz of traffic keeping you up at night. I found myself wandering back at different times of day just to see how the building looked in different light, which sounds touristy but honestly, the architecture is that striking. The breakfast was another pleasant surprise; not just the usual continental spread but actually good local specialties that gave you a real taste of the area. Check-in was smooth, parking was easier than I expected (they handle it for you, which takes away that usual city hotel stress), and the whole experience just felt… well, effortless in the best way. It’s one of those places where the five-star rating feels earned rather than just expensive – you’re paying for genuine quality and that increasingly rare feeling that someone actually cares about your experience there.

  Beautiful hotel in an excellent location – right beside the castle and only ten mins walk to the Old Town Square. Quiet area – a pedestrianized street so no noise at all. The staff could not have been more helpful or welcoming. The breakfast was delicious and copious. The bedroom was spotless, beautifully furnished and comfortable. I honestly can't say enough about this lovely hotel. I will definitely be back.

  Great hotel in a central location but just off the main streets so really peaceful. Rooms are quirky as it’s an old building and the basement pool and sauna are perfect after a long day. Staff were lovely and helpful. Rooms super clean and well equipped. Breakfasts good quality and generous. Perfect for couples. Would happily stay here again.

  A gracious, beautiful hotel located on a picturesque Street near the Castle. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was huge and stunning, with the most comfortable bed and pillows of our entire trip. The sauna was lovely and we used it every day to warm up from the Christmas markets.
