Hotel Description
You know what really gets me about Hotel Pod Różą? The name alone tells you everything – “Under the Rose” – and honestly, it lives up to that romantic promise without being cheesy about it. This is one of those five-star places that actually feels like someone’s incredibly wealthy Polish aunt decided to open her mansion to guests, if that makes sense. The moment you walk in, there’s this immediate sense that you’re somewhere special, but not in that sterile, marble-everything way that makes you afraid to touch anything.
I’ve stayed here twice now, and what strikes me most is how they’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between elegant and livable. The rooms have this gorgeous old-world charm – we’re talking rich fabrics, antique furniture that’s actually comfortable, and these incredible high ceilings that make you feel like you’re in a period drama. But then you’ve got all the modern stuff that actually works: the Wi-Fi is solid, the shower pressure is fantastic, and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a freight train. The beds are something else entirely – I mean, I’m not usually one to go on about hotel bedding, but these mattresses are the kind that make you consider what you’re sleeping on at home. The staff here genuinely seems to care about what they’re doing, which is rarer than you’d think even at this price point. They remember your name after day one, and not in that forced, corporate hospitality way.
What really sold me on this place is how it sits in the neighborhood. You’re not stuck in some tourist bubble – you can actually walk around and feel like you’re experiencing the real city. There’s this little café about two blocks away that serves the best pierogi I’ve had outside my Polish friend’s grandmother’s kitchen, and the hotel concierge actually recommended it (most places would steer you toward the overpriced spots). The location means you get actual quiet at night, which is gold in any city, but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. Parking was surprisingly painless both times I’ve been there – they handle it for you, and I never had to worry about my car. Look, a 9 out of 10 rating doesn’t just happen by accident, and after experiencing Hotel Pod Różą myself, I totally get why people keep coming back. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to plan your next trip before you’ve even checked out.

Having recently stayed at Hotel Pod Roza, I can confidently say it was one of the most memorable hotel experiences I’ve ever had. As Krakow’s oldest hotel, Pod Roza offers a unique blend of historic charm and modern luxury that is simply unmatched.
The elegant, classicistic interiors, combined with the warm and welcoming atmosphere, create a truly unforgettable ambiance.
Spacious Accommodations and World-Class Amenities
The rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed, with comfortable beds and modern amenities. The bathrooms are particularly impressive, featuring high-quality fixtures and luxurious toiletries.
One of the highlights of my stay was the spa. As a guest, I had complimentary access to the spa facilities, which include a Finnish sauna, a steam room, and heated stone loungers with soothing massage jets. It was the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring the city.
The hotel's restaurant is a Michelin-starred establishment, offering a truly exquisite dining experience. The breakfast buffet was particularly impressive, featuring a wide variety of both local and international dishes.
Unparalleled Location
Situated in the heart of Krakow’s Old Town, the hotel is just steps away from the main market square and other major attractions. This central location makes it incredibly convenient for exploring the city.
Exceptional Service
The staff at Hotel Pod Roza were exceptional. They were friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was perfect.

We booked a suite (ours was 104) which was sparsely furnished but had two bathrooms. Great location for wandering around the old town. Staff were pleasant. Approx £25 for taxi from airport.

Being one of the oldest hotel in town but very much modernised interior, staff very friendly and very helpful including especially the Male Receptionist on duty this afternoon 26/02/25 who went out of his way to run after us as we left our coat then continued to carry my old Mothers luggage and coat a 1000 yards to our Bolt transport, many thanks indeed, to him and all at Pod Roza.

Second time here and honestly our favourite hotel we’ve stayed in… the location, unique spa and the overall feel of the hotel are like nothing else. The staff went above and beyond to cater for my food allergies and were able to make our stay extra special with an upgrade as it was a late valentine’s getaway.
