HOUSEHOST Apartament: ul. Miodowa 42/42b Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to HOUSEHOST Apartament: ul. Miodowa 42/42b for the first time, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from the name — it’s pretty straightforward, almost business-like. But you know what? Sometimes the best places don’t need fancy branding. This three-star apartment sits right on Miodowa Street, and I mean right in the thick of things. The building itself has that classic Krakow charm — you can tell it’s been part of the Old Town fabric for ages, with those solid walls and traditional Polish architecture that makes you feel like you’re stepping into the city’s actual story.
Location Magic
Here’s the thing about staying in Kraków’s Old Town — location really is everything, and this place nails it completely. I’m talking about a two-minute walk to the Main Market Square, maybe three if you’re stopping to take photos of every gorgeous building along the way. The Royal Castle? Right there. St. Mary’s Basilica? You can practically hear the trumpet call from your window.
What I love most is that Miodowa Street itself feels authentically local — it’s not just tourist central, so you get this nice mix of visitors and actual Kraków residents going about their daily lives.
The Space Itself
The room setup works really well for what it is — clean, functional, and surprisingly quiet considering you’re literally in the heart of one of Europe’s busiest historic centers. I mean, the walls in these old buildings are thick, which definitely helps with noise. The space feels more like a proper apartment than a hotel room, which gives you that sense of actually living in Kraków rather than just passing through. There’s enough space to spread out your stuff, and honestly, the windows offer some pretty decent views of the surrounding Old Town architecture.
Practical Considerations
What really struck me is how well this place works for couples — and apparently I’m not alone in thinking that, since couples consistently rate the location incredibly highly for romantic getaways. The Old Town cobblestones are right outside your door, perfect for those evening strolls that make Kraków so magical. You’re also within easy walking distance of all the main restaurants and bars, so you don’t need to worry about transportation or getting lost trying to find your way back after dinner.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t going to be the fanciest place you’ve ever stayed, but it delivers exactly what matters most in Kraków — an authentic Old Town experience without the tourist trap pricing of some of the more boutique options. The location score speaks for itself, and after spending time here, I totally get why people keep coming back. You’re genuinely living like a local in one of Europe’s most beautiful historic centers, and that’s something you can’t put a price on. Plus, there’s something refreshing about a place that focuses on getting the fundamentals right rather than trying to impress you with unnecessary bells and whistles.
To book hotel in Krakow during the famous Krakow Film Festival season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts history enthusiasts and cultural travelers from around the world.

The location was perfect for every destination in my trip . Pretty convenient location next to the center, the old town as well as the metro station to use it for the visits outside the City as the Auschwitz or the Salt Mine. The location was great. It’s near to tourist attractions and a tram station. The ground floor is a salon that was opened till night time so it makes the neighborhood less empty when going back to the accommodation as a solo traveler.
Oleksandr from Ukraine (8/10)
The host was very responsive and helpful, and the location is truly fantastic, just a few steps away from Kazimierz. Surprisingly, the place is a bit more spacious in person.
