HOUSEHOST Apartment: Miodowa 42/8a Street Overview

First Impressions

When I first walked up to HOUSEHOST Apartment: Miodowa 42/8a Street, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from a three-star apartment rental. But you know what? Sometimes the best surprises come in understated packages. This place sits right on Miodowa Street in Kraków’s Old Town, and I mean literally in the heart of everything — you can practically hear the cobblestones whispering stories from centuries past.

Location Magic

Here’s the thing about staying on Miodowa Street — you’re basically living like a local in one of Europe’s most stunning medieval quarters. I could walk to the Main Market Square in about three minutes (I timed it), and the Cloth Hall was right there whenever I wanted to grab some amber jewelry or just people-watch with a coffee. The Wawel Castle? Maybe a seven-minute stroll down the street. Couples absolutely love this spot, and honestly, I get it — there’s something pretty romantic about stepping out your door and being surrounded by 14th-century architecture.

The Space Itself

The room was clean and functional, which is exactly what I needed after long days exploring the city. It’s not going to win any design awards, but everything worked perfectly — the kitchenette was actually useful for making morning coffee and storing snacks from the local markets. I appreciated having a proper space to spread out my stuff instead of living out of a suitcase like you do in most hotels. The windows face the street, so you get those lovely Old Town views, though it can get a bit lively on weekend evenings (nothing earplugs can’t handle).

Living Like a Local

What I really loved was how this place let me experience Kraków differently than a typical hotel stay would. There’s a fantastic milk bar called Milkbar Tomasza just around the corner where locals grab pierogi for basically nothing, and the staff there started recognizing me by day three. The nearby Planty Park became my morning jogging route — it circles the entire Old Town and gives you this amazing perspective of the medieval walls. Having that kitchen meant I could shop at the Hala Targowa market and actually cook some of the incredible local produce.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t a fancy hotel with a concierge and room service, but that’s actually the point. You’re getting an authentic slice of Kraków life in a location that most five-star hotels would charge double for. The value here is incredible — I mean, where else can you stay in a UNESCO World Heritage site for this price? The apartment gives you independence to explore at your own pace, and when you’re this close to everything that matters in the Old Town, you really don’t need much else. Just bring comfortable walking shoes and an appetite for adventure.

To book a hotel in Krakow during peak medieval festival season, travelers need early planning as this historic capital draws visitors eager to experience its UNESCO World Heritage old town and royal heritage.

Super great location, very close to the attractions, museums and the old town, many great restaurants and cafes around by walking distance. Tram station is almost at the front of the building. It is a small apartment, but perfect for a couple for a few nights. The apartment is modern, good looking, the bathroom is huge and very modern. The host was very helpful with the entrance code, he was reachable on phone and helped immediately. The price was also good for quality.
