Hotel Description
You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from Hugo Star Apartments when I first walked up to 3 Augustiańska – I mean, apartment hotels can be hit or miss, right? But honestly, this place surprised me in the best way. The building itself has that classic Krakow charm without feeling stuffy or museum-like, and you’re literally steps from the main square without dealing with all the tourist chaos right outside your window. I actually heard more church bells than street noise, which was pretty perfect for sleeping.
What really got me was how thoughtfully everything was set up inside. The apartments feel like someone actually lives there – not that generic hotel furniture situation you usually get. The kitchenette isn’t just for show either; I mean, you’ve got proper counter space and decent appliances, which came in handy when I grabbed fresh bread and cheese from the market on Grodzka Street (maybe a three-minute walk). The staff knew their stuff too – they gave me this little hand-drawn map with actual shortcuts to avoid the crowds, plus spots where locals hang out. I’d never have found that tiny wine bar on Bracka Street otherwise.
Here’s the thing about the location though – and this is coming from someone who’s stayed all over Old Town – you’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough from Floriańska that you won’t have drunk tourists singing outside at 2am. The apartment I stayed in faced the courtyard, which was surprisingly quiet, especially considering how packed the streets get during peak season. Parking was actually manageable too (they’ve got a deal with a garage nearby), which honestly shocked me because finding a parking spot in Old Town usually feels impossible. The 9.3 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be fancy, but everything just works really well, and the value is solid for what you get in that neighborhood. Plus, you can walk to Wawel Castle in about ten minutes, but more importantly, you’re close to all those little streets where the real Krakow happens.
Best hotels in Krakow range from charming boutique properties in the historic Market Square to elegant converted palaces with stunning views of Wawel Castle and the Vistula River.

Great location .. could have stayed for a week – Michael from Australia – August 10, 2025 (9/10)
The apartment is very centrally located to the old city. It is a clean modern apartment with a small kitchenette. The washing machine was a bonus. Access to the building was easy via a code and the room keys are held in a ground floor safe. Parking is available but tight in the area and is metered from 10 til10 but didn't prevent us from finding a spot which was one of my concerns when booking the room. Highly recommended. The contact person Michael was very helpful with odd things.
What could be improved: It was perfect for a small apartment.Great apartment in a great location. – Seán from United Kingdom – August 4, 2025 (9/10)
This apartment was in an excellent location, being only a few minutes walk from some of the best bars and cafes in Krakow. The checkout was easy, and the apartment was great for a long weekend break. There was a nice kitchenette if you needed to make a morning tea or coffee. The price point was excellent for the location and amenities.
What could be improved: We could hear some sounds from our neighbours, but this was only obvious because they had a young child; otherwise, I don't think we would have noticed anything.Exceptional – Matjaz from United Kingdom – July 11, 2025 (10/10)
Excellent apartment, had everything I needed and also superb customer service.
Exceptional – Maguma from Poland – June 29, 2025 (10/10)
Very lovely and cozy apartment
Perfect location, perfect restaurants, perfect cafe! – Anghel from Romania – June 20, 2025 (10/10)
Everything was excellent. The building is very beautiful — I think it’s the most beautiful apartment staircase I’ve ever seen. The apartment looks exactly like in the pictures. Everything is modern and in perfect working condition. I really liked the area and the surroundings. On the ground floor of the building, there is Ona café, where I had high-quality specialty coffee, the Kropka restaurant, where I had a complete culinary experience, and the Bar restaurant – delicious. Everything I needed was within easy reach. There’s also a 24/7 supermarket just across the street. If I return to Krakow, I will definitely stay here again. It’s one of the best accommodations I’ve ever had.
What could be improved: My stay was too shortGreat Apartment in an Excellent Location – Michael from United Kingdom – June 14, 2025 (9/10)
Excellent Location in the Old Part of Krakow in a quiet street with a cool coffee shop and a couple of great restaurants.
Clean and Spacious Apartment.
What could be improved: Not a Deal Braker but would suggest a Tea towel and maybe a Microwave for the Kitchen.
As for the Bathroom some people would like to have a Shower Gel provided but as I always carry my own not a problem.Would definitely recommend! – Nancy from United Kingdom – June 7, 2025 (9/10)
Great location and had everything we needed! (And was also so cheap!).
What could be improved: Not major, but would have liked to have stored our bags before and after checkin.Great value for money, excellent location, and amazing restaurants nearby – Maria from Colombia – June 4, 2025 (10/10)
The apartment had everything we needed. The kitchen was fully equipped, and the entire place was clean and well-maintained. The instructions provided were clear and easy to follow. The owner was attentive and made sure everything was in order before our arrival, which we really appreciated. The property also has an elevator, making it accessible and convenient for people with disabilities. Overall, a great stay!
What could be improved: The towels could be of better quality, although there were enough for our stay. Also, it would be nice to have a light blanket available for the summer.Wonderful – Pacis from Germany – June 1, 2025 (9/10)
its near to the tram stops..and bakeries
Wonderful – William from Australia – June 1, 2025 (9/10)
Very clean and tidy accommodation.
