Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of Ibis hotels across Europe, and honestly? The Kraków Stare Miasto location really surprised me in the best way. You walk up to this modern glass building on Pawia street – which, I should mention, is actually perfectly positioned because you’re literally a five-minute walk from the main square but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the late-night party crowds stumbling around at 2 AM.

The lobby has that clean, minimalist Ibis vibe you’d expect, but what I didn’t expect was how genuinely helpful the front desk staff would be. They knew their stuff about the city – not just the touristy recommendations but actual useful intel like which tram lines were running late due to construction and where to grab decent pierogi that wouldn’t cost a fortune. My room was on the fourth floor facing the courtyard (thank god, because Pawia can get a bit noisy with traffic), and while it’s not going to win any design awards, everything just… worked. The shower had proper water pressure, the WiFi didn’t cut out every ten minutes, and the bed was actually comfortable – you know how hit-or-miss hotel beds can be.

Here’s what really sold me on this place though: the location is absolutely perfect for exploring Kraków without feeling like you’re staying in a tourist trap. You’re close enough to walk to Wawel Castle in about fifteen minutes, the Jewish Quarter is maybe twenty minutes on foot through some really beautiful streets, and – this is key – you’re right near the main train station if you’re doing day trips to places like Wieliczka or Auschwitz. I mean, I’ve stayed in fancier places in Kraków’s Old Town that cost twice as much, but honestly, after spending all day walking around this gorgeous city, all I wanted was a clean room, a good night’s sleep, and easy access to everything. The Ibis delivered on all counts. Plus, and this might sound silly, but they have this 24-hour snack station in the lobby that saved me more than once when I came back late and starving from exploring the nightlife around Kazimierz. It’s not luxury, but it’s smart, reliable, and the kind of place where you’ll actually sleep well instead of lying awake wondering if that stain on the ceiling has always been there.

  The location is very good, close by the train station and the bus station. There is a bus/tram stop just outside.
  Rooms are clean, big enough for 2 people. And we had a great breakfast. Also, on our last day, we had the possibility to exchange our breakfast for a lunch pack. Very handy!

  It’s super close to the main train station and to the tram stops to get everywhere (public transport in Poland is the best one in Europe).
  Ibis is expectedly clear and everything is predictably convenient. 24h reception and luggage storage and location are worth it
  
  What could be improved: this hotel chain has its drawbacks, there are no shelves for your shampoos in the shower cabin itself.
  Also it would be great if there were disposable slippers in the rooms.

  They provide the early checking at 9am for 30 and it was really helpful for us. Also the staff were really nice and helpful.

  The hotel is in an excellent location next to the main train station & just a few minutes walk from the old town. However despite being in a busy area, it is actually extremely quiet inside. Staff on the front desk are polite & friendly & check-in was quick. The upper floors are accessed via elevator & rooms have a key card system.
  My room was perfectly adequate, the double bed was rather comfortable, there's a large window that opens & the bathroom was reasonably well equipped. There are also lights & cabinets on each side of the bed with a socket & a TV on the wall. There is also an onsite restaurant plus some seating in the foyer while waiting for taxis etc. The whole place seemed very clean & was good value for money
  
  What could be improved: Unfortunately the room didn't contain a safe or a fridge, it felt a bit lacking.
  The rotating entrance door was broken throughout my stay. Not a big deal as it can be used manually but it didn't give off the best impression on my arrival.
  The room numbering system is in numerical order however it appears to "skip" random numbers which can be confusing.
  Although the room contained a large double bed, it wasn't actually that big, i thought it might be a bit larger.
