Iron Apartments Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Iron Apartments on Kątowa Street, you immediately get that “I found something special” feeling. This three-star property sits right in the heart of Kraków’s Old Town, and honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering. The building has this understated charm — not flashy, but you can tell someone put thought into making it feel welcoming. I mean, when you’re this close to the main square, you don’t need to try too hard to impress.
The Location Magic
Here’s what I love about staying here — you’re literally in the thick of everything without the chaos. Kątowa Street is one of those narrow cobblestone lanes that makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time, but you’re actually just a three-minute walk from the main market square. The restaurant scene around here is incredible, and you’ll find yourself stumbling upon these tiny cafés and bars that most tourists never discover. Couples seem to really get this place (the ratings back that up), and I can see why — there’s something romantic about having your own little apartment in such a historic setting.
The Apartment Experience
What sets Iron Apartments apart is that you’re not getting a standard hotel room — you’re getting actual living space. Each unit comes with a proper kitchen, which honestly saves you a fortune when you’re traveling. I found myself picking up fresh bread and local cheese from the nearby market halls and having breakfast on my own terms. The apartments are modern inside despite the historic exterior, and everything actually works (you know how that can be hit-or-miss in older buildings). The Wi-Fi is solid, the heating keeps up with Kraków’s chilly evenings, and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff.
Neighborhood Insights
One thing that surprised me was how quiet it gets at night, even though you’re so central. The Old Town has this amazing ability to transform from bustling tourist hub during the day to peaceful residential area after dark. You’ll hear church bells instead of traffic, and the evening walks along these medieval streets are pretty magical. Parking can be tricky in this area (it’s Old Town, after all), but the staff knows the neighborhood well and can point you toward the best options if you’re driving.
Why Guests Love It
The 8.6 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve stayed here. It’s that sweet spot where you get the independence of having your own place with the support of hotel-style service when you need it. The value is solid for what you’re getting — prime Old Town location, actual living space, and that local neighborhood feel that’s hard to find in more touristy properties. Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway or just want to experience Kraków like a temporary local, Iron Apartments delivers without any pretense. Sometimes the best places are the ones that just quietly do everything right.

Reviews of Iron Apartments
Narcisa from Romania (9/10)
Everything was perfect, even though the apartment is small. It's more like a hotel room with kitchen right beside the bed, which made it easy to have breakfast in bed. 😂 The cleanliness was exemplary and the interior design was both functional and pleasing. The air conditioning worked perfectly and came in handy on 30°C weather.
I wouldn't recommend it for longer stays because space might become a problem at some point. There is self-check in and the owner is very responsive. Parking was easy and the parking meter is right there and it also takes card payment which is nice – 40 PLN per day from 10:00 to 20:00. Don't neglect paying the parking since there are agents checking the tickets frequently.
There is a dog tax of 50 PLN per stay for small breeds, don't know about bigger ones. The neighbors had dogs too, but theirs were barking a lot and the walls are quite thin. We could even hear their owners talk and being loud, but we are sound sleepers so that's no problem for us. But if you want quiet, consider another place since there's also a lot of construction work going on in the area.Zvinairo from Poland (8/10)

Overall, it’s a modern apartment in a new building. Not far away from the city centre but definitely not in the old city.
