Kazimierz Old Town Apartments Overview

You know what really struck me about the Kazimierz Old Town Apartments? They’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between authentic local living and actually having your basic needs met as a tourist. I mean, staying in Kazimierz is already half the experience – this isn’t some sterile hotel district, it’s the actual Jewish quarter with all its cobblestone charm and late-night energy.

The apartments themselves feel lived-in rather than staged, which honestly was refreshing after so many cookie-cutter places. The building has that pre-war character you can’t fake – thick walls (great for blocking out the weekend revelers on Szeroka Street), high ceilings that keep things cool in summer, and those windows that actually open wide instead of just cracking an inch. My unit had this little kitchenette that was surprisingly well-equipped – not just a mini-fridge and sad hot plate situation. The bathroom was compact but functional, with decent water pressure, which you can’t always count on in these historic buildings. Fair warning though, if you’re on one of the higher floors and there’s no elevator in your building, pack light.

What I loved most was stepping outside and being right in the thick of everything. You’re a two-minute walk from the synagogues, practically next door to some fantastic pierogi spots that locals actually frequent (not just tourist traps), and close enough to the main square that you can wander over for morning coffee without planning an expedition. The Saturday market at Plac Nowy gets pretty lively – in a good way during the day, though it can get rowdy late at night on weekends. But honestly, that’s part of Kraków’s appeal. You’ll hear some street music drifting up, maybe catch the smell of zapiekanka from the food stands below. The whole neighborhood has this authentic buzz that you just can’t get staying in some business district. The staff – well, they’re more like helpful neighbors than hotel concierges – were genuinely knowledgeable about the area. They pointed me toward this tiny bookshop café I never would have found otherwise and gave me the real scoop on which restaurants were worth the wait.

Reviews of Kazimierz Old Town Apartments

  • 月夜 from Poland (8/10)

The location is good, there is a train and tram station nearby. We requested and get to checked in earlier at 12pm. The apartment is also clean, and equipped with dishwasher and washing machine.

  • Marco from Italy (9/10)

    Clean and spacious apartment.
Location in-between old town and kazimierz.

  • Pham from Vietnam (9/10)

Coffee machine was nice , but need refill coffee with standard 1 per pax par day.

  • Arvind from Finland (9/10)

Room: The room was spacious. Everything was clean. had a TV, one king-size bed, and one single bed. The air conditioning (AC) was working very nicely. The WIFI working speed was enough to make calls and receive video calls (or online surfing or online meetings).

Kitchen: As this is an apartment, therefore the kitchen is attached to the main room. The kitchen has pans, cutleries, coffee machine (there were enough coffee machine capsules for our 4-day stay). We cook small meals (especially breakfast such as toasting bread and eating eggs). The fridge (appears to be 215 liters), along with the freezer would be nice to bring drinks and chill them before drinking (ZabkaStore 50m)

Location: It is at a prime location. The airport bus drops nearly 1.6 KM away (I took 300 bus routes and took a 60-minute pass as another option (say example, a 20-minute pass, is not enough). Tip: Please activate the ticket inside the bus (ticket machine inside the bus) just before the bus starts (at the airport) as the bus could take rest time before going back to the city (sometimes 10-20 mins, which means you lose those 10-20 mins from your 60 mins) ). but there are enough tram lines that would assist in reaching this property from where you get deboarded from the bus (if deboarded at Muzeum Narodowe then Tram line 1; if deboarded at Rondo Grunwaldzkie then Tram line 22, 18 and 52). There are few bars and enough restaurants nearby. We had a chance to watch a football match in the bar nearby (and it was fun). The location is quite lively at night at least in summer (as I was traveling in June).

Old Town: nearly 8-10 mins (by foot) to Old Town Square and nearly 12 mins (by foot) to Wawel Castl. However for Auschwitz concentration camps we took Flixbus which can be booked online and can be boarded at Krakow Glowny (we got it from the "D" stop which is located underground in this station).

I like this place for location, purity and responsiveness of administration. Here are details. Firstly, thanks to administaration for earlier check-in, because we have been traveling with small child. They allowed to check-in at 11 o'clock in the mornig. Secondly, the room was very clean, especially bathroom, that's really important for me. The appartment is in the center of the city, so can visit all attractions by walk.
