I’ll be honest – I wasn’t expecting much from Loft21 when I first pulled up. The name made it sound like one of those trendy-but-soulless boutique places that look better on Instagram than they feel in person. Boy, was I wrong.

The moment you walk in, you get why they landed a 9.8 rating. It’s got this industrial-chic thing going on, but actually comfortable – you know what I mean? Like someone took a converted warehouse space and made it somewhere you’d want to hang out rather than just pose for photos. The lobby has these huge windows that flood everything with natural light during the day, and honestly, I spent way too much time just people-watching from one of their oversized leather chairs. The check-in was refreshingly quick too – none of that “let me tell you about seventeen amenities you’ll never use” speech that some places insist on.

What really got me was the attention to the little stuff. The room had this perfect reading light by the bed (I’m picky about that), and the shower pressure was actually decent – which, let’s face it, can make or break a hotel stay. The sound insulation is solid too; I was worried about street noise since it’s clearly in a busier area, but I slept like a baby even with the windows cracked open. The cleaning crew knows what they’re doing – everything felt genuinely clean, not just surface-level tidy. And here’s something weird but important: the WiFi actually worked everywhere, even in the elevator. I mean, I’ve stayed at five-star places where you lose connection the second you step away from the front desk.

The whole place has this lived-in feel that you don’t usually get with newer hotels. It’s like they’ve been perfecting the details for years instead of just throwing together a pretty space and hoping for the best. The staff seems to genuinely like working there, which always shows – they’re helpful without being pushy, and they actually know the neighborhood well enough to give you real recommendations instead of just pointing you toward the tourist traps. I ended up extending my stay an extra night, partly because I wasn’t ready to leave and partly because rebooking was surprisingly easy. Four stars on paper, but it honestly feels like more than that when you’re actually staying there.
