You know what hit me first when I walked into this penthouse on Marka Stachowskiego? The silence. I mean, you’re literally in Grzegórzki – which honestly isn’t the prettiest district in Krakow – but somehow this place feels completely removed from all that street noise below. The jacuzzi sits right by these massive windows, and I spent way too much time just soaking there watching the city lights come on.

The location is actually pretty clever when you think about it. Sure, you’re not right in the Old Town where all the tourists are stumbling around, but that’s kind of the point. You’re maybe a 15-minute tram ride to the main square (the number 4 stops practically at your door), and there’s this great little pierogi place just down the street that I guarantee no guidebook mentions. Plus – and this is huge – parking here isn’t the nightmare it is closer to Wawel Castle. The building has its own garage, which honestly saved my sanity after driving through Polish traffic all day.

What really sets this apart though is how they’ve done the space. It’s not trying too hard to be fancy, you know? The jacuzzi dominates the main room (as it should), but everything else feels lived-in rather than sterile. The kitchen actually has proper equipment – I made breakfast there twice and didn’t have to hunt for a decent knife. The bedroom gets morning light without being obnoxious about it, and the bathroom… well, let’s just say the shower pressure could strip paint. Sometimes you need that after a long day walking around Kazimierz. The whole place sleeps maybe four people comfortably, though honestly it’s best with just two if you want to really enjoy that jacuzzi without feeling cramped. One tiny thing – the heating can be a bit temperamental in winter (I was there in February), so you might need to fiddle with it, but the building’s super helpful about stuff like that. And fair warning: if you’re planning to stay during summer, book early. This place gets snatched up fast once people discover it, especially during the film festival when everything decent in the city center is either booked solid or ridiculously overpriced.
