Main Square 18 King Apartament Overview
Honestly, when I first walked into Main Square 18, I thought there had to be some mistake with the address. I mean, you’re literally *on* Rynek Główny – like, when you look out the windows, you’re staring directly at the Cloth Hall and St. Mary’s Basilica. It’s one of those pinch-me moments where you realize you’re sleeping in what’s basically Europe’s most beautiful living room.
The apartment itself feels like someone’s stylish Polish grandmother got a makeover from a boutique hotel designer – and I mean that in the best possible way. There’s this perfect balance between old Krakow character (those gorgeous high ceilings and original details) and actually functional modern stuff. The king bed is legitimately comfortable, not just Instagram-pretty, and you know what? The Wi-Fi actually works, which isn’t always a given in these historic buildings. The kitchen’s small but totally usable if you hit up the morning market in the square – though honestly, with all the incredible restaurants within a two-minute walk, I barely touched it except for morning coffee. Speaking of which, the coffee machine is decent, not amazing, but when you can grab proper espresso at any of the cafés downstairs, it’s really not an issue.
Here’s what nobody tells you about staying right on the main square: it gets busy during the day (tourists everywhere from about 9 AM to 6 PM), but early mornings and evenings are absolutely magical. I’m talking about stepping outside at 7 AM when the light hits those medieval buildings just right, or hearing the bugle call from St. Mary’s tower at night when the square’s nearly empty. The location means you can duck inside whenever the crowds get overwhelming, then pop back out when things calm down. Parking’s a bit of a puzzle – there’s no hotel parking, obviously, since you’re in a 13th-century square – but there are underground garages within a few blocks. Just factor that into your budget because it’s not cheap. The building entrance is easy to miss if you’re not paying attention; it’s tucked between storefronts, and honestly, that adds to the whole “local secret” vibe. Check-in was smooth, though the stairs up to the apartment might be challenging if you’ve overpacked (no elevator, which is pretty standard for these old buildings). The noise level surprised me – I expected it to be crazy loud being right on the square, but the windows are solid, and by 10 PM things quiet down significantly. During summer weekends it might be different, but in shoulder season it was perfectly manageable. What really sold me on this place is how it strikes that sweet spot between being right in the thick of everything while still feeling like an actual home base, not just a tourist crash pad.
Hotel in Krakow booking should be done early, especially during summer season when the city hosts internationally acclaimed cultural festivals and medieval celebrations.

What could be improved: Nothing not to like.Very Good – Beata from Poland – April 18, 2025 (8/10)
The location is excellent, right at the market square, but even with all the bustle outside, the windows keep the noise out. The rooms are really huge and beautifully furnished.
What could be improved: The bathrooms need a little bit of refreshing. Parking is not too far (8 minutes on foot) but it’s still best to travel with a light bag.
Parking anywhere in that area will cost a fortune. At least 120 PLN a day (spring 2025).Fantastic location! – Karin from United Kingdom – April 14, 2025 (9/10)

Awsome location. Clean, well equipped apartment.

Darker / Blackout curtains (similar to rear bedroom) needed in front bedroom.
No plugs for sinks which made washing up and shaving more difficult.
