MedHotel Krupnicza w Krakowie Overview

You know what? When I first walked into MedHotel Krupnicza, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place in Kraków. I mean, the city’s packed with tourist traps, and sometimes these smaller hotels can be pretty hit-or-miss. But this little gem actually surprised me – and I’m kind of picky about where I stay.

The thing about Krupnicza street is that it’s one of those spots where you get the real Kraków vibe without all the chaos of the main square. You’re close enough to walk to everything that matters (honestly, everything’s walkable in the Old Town anyway), but far enough that you’re not dealing with drunk tourists stumbling around at 3 AM. The hotel itself has this understated charm – it’s not trying to be some fancy boutique place, but everything just works. Check-in was smooth, no weird surprises with the room, and the staff actually seemed to know the neighborhood well enough to give decent recommendations. I asked about where to grab breakfast that wasn’t a total tourist markup, and they pointed me to this little café around the corner that I never would’ve found otherwise.

What really got me was how quiet it was at night. Kraków can get pretty lively (especially during summer when the city’s crawling with visitors), but something about the way this building sits on Krupnicza – maybe it’s the courtyard setup, I’m not entirely sure – just blocks out most of the street noise. The rooms aren’t huge, but they’re thoughtfully laid out, and honestly, when you’re spending your days wandering around Wawel Castle and getting lost in Kazimierz, you just need a clean, comfortable place to crash. The bathroom was actually decent-sized too, which is more than I can say for some of the pricier places I’ve stayed in European city centers. I guess what impressed me most was how the whole experience felt… effortless? Like, nothing was broken, nothing felt cheap or rushed, and you could tell someone actually cares about running the place properly. That 9.6 rating makes total sense when you think about it – it’s not trying to be the Ritz, but it delivers exactly what you want from a city hotel without any of the usual frustrations.

To book hotel in Krakow during the famous Krakow Film Festival season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts history enthusiasts and cultural travelers from around the world.

Location 5 minutes walk from main square. Have stayed in KRK a lot and found this property best value for money. Easy to reach the tram stop.

  • Hurricane from United Kingdom (9/10)

The accommodation was impeccably clean and the location super convenient and the lady who we booked through was over and above helpful considering we had our flight cancelled and this was a last minute booking. She kept in touch via text and did all she could to get us two rooms. We even got given a discout for the extended stay after the first night due to the ongoing delay. Excellent!

  • Weronika from United Kingdom (10/10)

My partner and I really enjoyed our one-night stay at MedHotel. Everything was clean, the staff was really nice (helped us with the luggage and explained everything politely), and there was a machine with unlimited water (sparkling, cold, warm etc) at the staircase just a floor down from our room. The bathroom was spacious, the room had a TV (unfortunately Netflix wasn't available but if you've got Samsung, you could connect your phone to it wireless), there was a tiny fridge in our room, the kettle with tea were provided too, and the two twin beds (moved to make it into one big bed) were actually comfortable with clean duvets. It's also convenient you don't need to remember to take your key card as long as you remember the code to your room/front door! The location of it is also perfect with a lot of restaurants, shops and wine bars around, and 15min walk to the main square. And the place conveniently has a lift 🙂
