You know what struck me first about Metropolis Design Apartments? It’s tucked away on Krowoderska Street in a way that feels deliberately hidden – like someone wanted to keep this spot to themselves. I mean, you’re technically in Old Town, but you’re on this quieter residential stretch that most tourists never stumble across. The building itself has that satisfying blend of old Krakow architecture with sleek, contemporary touches that actually work (unlike some design hotels that try too hard).

The apartments – and they really are proper apartments, not just hotel rooms with a kitchenette thrown in – have this grown-up aesthetic that makes you feel like you’re staying at a stylish friend’s place. The design is clean without being sterile, and honestly, the beds are fantastic. I’m someone who usually tosses and turns in hotel beds, but I slept like a rock here. What I really appreciated was how they thought through the practical stuff too. The kitchens are actually functional if you want to grab groceries from the little shops along Krowoderska, and there’s proper closet space – you know, details that matter when you’re staying more than a night or two. The bathrooms have excellent water pressure (crucial after walking around Krakow’s cobblestones all day), and the soundproofing is solid. You get the occasional tram rumbling by, but it’s more ambient city noise than anything disruptive.

Location-wise, you’re in this sweet spot where you can walk to the Main Square in about ten minutes, but you’re not dealing with the chaos of staying right in the thick of it. There’s a fantastic little café called Karma just around the corner that locals actually go to – not just tourists – and you’re close enough to the Planty gardens that morning runs become tempting. The neighborhood has that lived-in feel during the day, with people heading to work and kids walking to school, which gives you a sense of what Krakow is like beyond the tourist bubble. Parking can be tricky (this is Old Town, after all), but the staff actually knows the area and can point you toward spots that aren’t impossible. Check-in was refreshingly smooth – they seem to have their systems figured out, and the front desk folks know their stuff about the city. I’d definitely stay here again, especially for longer trips where you want that apartment-style setup without sacrificing the conveniences of a good hotel.

  The apartment was lovely! Absolutely gorgeous. Very well presented, comfortable beds, good shower, clean areas. Great location. Will come back to stay here when I came back to Krakow. Also quiet!

  The apartment was very quiet, nice, new, clean and well equipped. We spent very nice tíme there. Enough space also for wheelchair or stroller
  
  What could be improved: Parking was challenging as I haven' t used "Swiss parking model" yet. Be sure to announce the height of your car in advance as you can park the car with the max height of 150 cm at the lower platform. In my case the garage was not full so I was able to change the parking place and the owner was fine with that.

  Nice new apartment. In a quiet area but really walkable to the old town. Beautiful balcony to sit out on and enjoy the weather!
  
  What could be improved: The only minor issue was an unusual smell in the bedroom in the morning, a kind of sewerage smell. Overall did not takeaway from the stay, and was easily fixed with ventilation.
