Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Metropolis Old Town Apartments? It’s actually tucked away on Krowoderska Street in a way that feels perfectly local – none of that touristy hotel lobby chaos you get closer to the main square. I mean, you’re still right in the heart of everything (seriously, maybe a 5-minute walk to Market Square), but the building sits on this quieter stretch where you’ll see more locals heading to work than groups of tourists with selfie sticks.
The apartments themselves are honestly impressive for a 4-star place. They’ve got this thing figured out where it feels like staying in someone’s well-appointed city flat rather than a sterile hotel room. The kitchens are actually functional – I’m talking full-size appliances, not those tiny European fridges that barely hold a bottle of wine. The living spaces have these high ceilings that you get in older Krakow buildings, but they’ve been renovated thoughtfully, so you’re not dealing with creaky floors or questionable plumbing. What really struck me was the attention to small details… good lighting (rare in Eastern Europe, honestly), decent Wi-Fi that doesn’t cut out every ten minutes, and – this might sound weird – but the water pressure in the showers is actually solid.
Here’s the thing about the location that most descriptions won’t tell you: Krowoderska connects you to both the tourist stuff and the real Krakow. Walk one direction and you hit all the medieval charm and pierogi stands around the Rynek. Walk the other way and you’re in neighborhoods where locals actually live and eat – there’s this fantastic little bar called Eszeweria just down the street that serves incredible zurek, and most tourists never find it. The tram lines are close enough to be useful but far enough that you won’t hear them clattering by at 6 AM. Parking can be tricky (like everywhere in Old Town), but they’ve got arrangements with nearby lots, and honestly, you won’t need a car much once you’re settled in. The 9.4 rating makes total sense to me – it’s the kind of place where everything just works without feeling overly fussy about it.
Krakow’s apartments offer spacious accommodations with historical character, perfect for families wanting to experience daily life in this beautifully preserved Polish city.

Perfect Location For Active Travellers – Paul from United Kingdom – August 12, 2025 (9/10)
Easy instructions to enter the apartment. 5 minute walk to edge of town, 10 minutes to the centre. Clean rooms and comfy bed. Excellent air con and good WiFi.
What could be improved: Ground floor apartment is next to the entrance doors so does get a bit noisy at night with the front door banging. No different to other large apartment blocks.Exceptional – Lenka from Czech Republic – August 11, 2025 (10/10)
