Oak Tree Old Town Apartments Overview

You know what struck me first about Oak Tree Old Town Apartments? The name actually makes sense – there’s this massive oak tree right out front that’s probably been there longer than most of the buildings around it. I mean, you don’t always expect truth in advertising with these places, but here we are.

The thing is, this isn’t your typical hotel experience, and honestly, that’s exactly why it works so well. These are proper apartments, which means you get a real kitchen (not some sad mini-fridge situation), actual counter space, and – this was huge for me – a dining table where you can spread out your stuff or eat breakfast without balancing everything on your lap. The Old Town location puts you right in the thick of things without the tourist trap pricing of some of the flashier places. You’re walking distance from the main square, but far enough down a quieter street that you’re not dealing with late-night party noise echoing off cobblestones.

What really sold me was the apartment I stayed in felt lived-in, in the best way possible. The furniture wasn’t matching hotel-bland everything, and the walls had actual character – some exposed brick here, original hardwood floors there that creaked just enough to feel authentic without being annoying. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too; no endless lobby waiting or upselling attempts, just keys and genuine recommendations about where to grab coffee in the morning. Speaking of which, there’s this little bakery about two blocks over that the front desk guy mentioned – locals actually line up there, which you know means it’s the real deal.

The 8.7 rating isn’t just numbers on a screen either. You can feel it in the details that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The shower pressure is solid, the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out when you need it most, and someone clearly thought about storage space because there are enough hooks and shelves that you’re not living out of a suitcase on the floor. I stayed during what turned out to be a busy weekend, and while I could hear some street activity during the day, it was that pleasant urban hum rather than anything disruptive – actually made the place feel more connected to the neighborhood. The three-star rating might make you think it’s basic, but honestly, it’s more about not having a concierge or room service than lacking anything you’d actually want in a place to stay.

  • Luciana from Romania (9/10)

Very well located, very clean, decently sized room with a very clean bathroom. In the room there is also a kitchinette with everything one needs to prepare basic things. The restaurant where the breakfast can be served has a nice atmosphere but the options are limited.

  • Sintija from Latvia (9/10)

The apartment is located next to the old town, which allows you to save on transport. Our reservation included breakfast, which is provided by a restaurant a couple of houses down the same street. Very accommodating attitude so that we didn't have to cancel breakfast in the morning when we went to Zakopane. We received breakfast in the evening of the previous day in prepared hermetically sealed boxes. Convenient and applicable!
