Hotel Description

You know what really struck me about Old Town Apartment Morsztynowska? It’s tucked away on this quiet residential street that most tourists never find, but you’re literally a three-minute walk from the main square. I mean, you can actually hear the trumpet call from St. Mary’s Basilica if you open the windows – which sounds touristy but is honestly pretty magical at sunset.

The building itself has that classic Krakow charm without feeling like a museum piece. The apartment I stayed in had these gorgeous high ceilings and original hardwood floors that creak just enough to remind you you’re in a centuries-old building, but not so much that you’re tiptoeing around at night. The kitchen was surprisingly well-equipped – I actually cooked a few meals there using ingredients from the little market on Grodzka Street (honestly, their bread is incredible and costs next to nothing). What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. You’re far enough from the main tourist drag that you don’t hear drunk groups stumbling back from the bars, but close enough that a quick evening stroll to grab pierogi is totally doable.

The owners clearly know what they’re doing – check-in was smooth, and they left this little folder with genuinely useful local tips, not just the obvious stuff. Like, they mentioned that the best coffee is at this tiny place called Caffé Camelot just around the corner, and they were absolutely right. The Wi-Fi was solid throughout the apartment, which matters when you’re trying to upload photos or navigate using your phone. I should mention that parking can be tricky if you’re driving – Old Town isn’t really car-friendly, but there’s a decent parking garage about a five-minute walk away. The 9.4 rating makes total sense to me because it delivers on everything that actually matters: location without the chaos, authentic character without sacrificing comfort, and that sweet spot of feeling local while still being convenient. If you’re the type who wants to experience Krakow like you live there rather than just passing through, this place nails it. Just book early – I get the sense it stays pretty full, especially during summer when the weather’s perfect for wandering around the cobblestone streets.

Hotels in Krakow offer visitors the opportunity to stay in the heart of this medieval masterpiece, with easy access to castles, churches, and traditional Polish experiences.
