You know what struck me first about this place? The moment I walked up Starowiślna street, I could feel that perfect balance between being right in the thick of things but not drowning in tourist chaos. The Old Town Apartment sits on one of those classic Krakow streets where you’ve got cobblestones under your feet and centuries-old architecture surrounding you, but honestly – it doesn’t feel like a museum. There’s actual life happening here. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from the Main Square, but you can actually get some sleep at night because Starowiślna doesn’t get the same foot traffic as some of the main drags.

What really gets me about this apartment is how they’ve managed to keep that authentic Polish character without making you feel like you’re roughing it. The building itself has that beautiful old-world facade you’d expect in this part of town, but inside? Everything just works. The heating was solid during my November visit (and trust me, Krakow in November will test any heating system), the wifi didn’t cut out every ten minutes like some places I’ve stayed, and the kitchen actually had proper equipment – not those sad little setups where you can barely make coffee. I actually ended up cooking a few meals there, partly because I found this amazing little market just around the corner on Grodzka street where locals shop, and partly because after a few days of pierogi and kielbasa, your stomach starts asking for variety.

Here’s the thing that really sold me though – the location gives you options. Want to hit the tourist spots? Cloth Hall and St. Mary’s Basilica are right there. Feel like digging into the real Krakow? Head down toward Kazimierz (maybe fifteen minutes on foot) and you’re in the heart of the old Jewish quarter with its incredible cafes and that slightly grittier, more artistic vibe. The apartment sits in this sweet spot where you can walk to everything that matters, but you’re not paying those premium prices you’d shell out for a place directly on the square. Parking was actually manageable too – there’s a garage nearby that won’t completely destroy your budget, which honestly surprised me given how central everything is. The only minor thing I’d mention is that the stairs can be a bit steep if you’re hauling heavy luggage, but that’s pretty standard for these historic buildings. With a 9.3 rating, I get why people keep coming back here. It’s one of those rare finds where the location, comfort, and value actually line up the way they’re supposed to.

  Amazing property with everything you needed. Beautiful inside, comfy beds, clean modern lots of space! Would recommend and would definitely stay again. The host was so kind as to let us keep our room on at no extra charge until we had to leave at 6pm. Absolutely fantastic!!

  The apartment has a great location. It’s only 10 minutes by walk from old City center and also there are many tram very close.

  Great location 10min walk to main square, good facility, easy access to the flat and good communication. Great bathrooms and the flat had everything we needed for our 3 day stay. Enough space for 6 people.

  Logement conforme à l’annonce, spacieux, cuisine très bien équipée, hôte très réactif, très bien placé proche des principales curiosités de la ville.
  
  What could be improved: Pas de fenêtre dans les chambres ce qui ne permet pas d’aérer les pièces, assez bruyant avec le tram qui passe toute la journée jusqu’à minuit sous la fenêtre du salon et donc audible de chambres. Si sensible au bruit, prévoir des boules quies.
