Hotel Description
So I stumbled across Old Town Apartments on Bosacka Street completely by accident — I was actually looking for something else entirely, but honestly, this turned out to be one of those happy travel mistakes that you end up bragging about later. The building sits right in the heart of the old quarter, and you know what struck me first? It’s that perfect sweet spot where you’re close enough to everything that matters, but tucked away just enough that you’re not dealing with drunk tourists stumbling past your window at 2 AM.
The apartments themselves have this lived-in authenticity that I really appreciated — I mean, they’ve clearly put effort into keeping things updated (the kitchens are actually functional, not just for show), but they haven’t stripped away all the character in the process. There’s original hardwood flooring that creaks in all the right places, and the windows are these tall, old-school ones that let in amazing light during the day. What really surprised me was how quiet it gets at night, considering you’re literally in the middle of everything. The walls must be thicker than they look, because even when I could hear the city humming outside, it felt more atmospheric than disruptive.
I’ll be straight with you — the location is what makes this place special, but not for the obvious reasons. Sure, you can walk to the main square in about five minutes, and there’s a fantastic little bakery two blocks down that locals line up at every morning (get there before 9 if you want the good stuff). But what I loved was how staying here made me feel like I was actually living in the neighborhood for a few days instead of just passing through it. My favorite discovery was this tiny wine bar on the corner — no sign, just locals who seem to know it’s there — and the owner mentioned that guests from Bosacka 34 come by pretty regularly. That’s the kind of insider access you can’t plan for, you just have to stumble into it. The check-in process was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that overly formal hotel reception desk drama. Just real people who seem to genuinely enjoy what they’re doing and know their neighborhood well enough to point you toward the stuff that actually matters.
