Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Old Town Rakowicka? It’s tucked away on this quiet side street that most tourists just walk past, but you’re literally a five-minute stroll from Main Market Square. I mean, you can actually hear the horse carriages clattering over cobblestones in the morning – not loud enough to wake you up, just enough to remind you where you are. The building itself has this understated charm that’s very Krakow – none of that flashy renovation stuff that screams “tourist hotel,” just clean modern touches that respect the old architecture.
The rooms are honestly more spacious than I expected for Old Town (anyone who’s stayed in European city centers knows what I’m talking about). They’ve done this smart thing where the design feels contemporary but not sterile – think warm woods and muted colors that don’t fight with the historical vibe outside your window. The staff actually knows the neighborhood, which is rarer than you’d think. When I asked about good pierogi that wasn’t a tourist trap, the front desk guy immediately said “walk to Szeroka Street, but skip the first three places and go to the one with no English menu.” He was absolutely right.
Parking was surprisingly manageable – they’ve got arrangements with a nearby garage, which saved me from driving circles around those narrow medieval streets. The breakfast spread is solid without trying too hard to impress, and here’s a detail that matters: the coffee is actually good, not that watery hotel stuff. I stayed during shoulder season in October, so it was pretty quiet, but I imagine summer gets busier since the location is genuinely perfect for exploring. The only minor thing is that some rooms face the inner courtyard, which is peaceful but a bit dark – though honestly, if you’re spending daylight hours inside while staying in Krakow’s Old Town, you’re doing it wrong anyway. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you discovered something locals might actually recommend, rather than just another booking algorithm suggestion.

Location was perfect… close to downtown area as well as bars and restaurants. Nice, modern building … outside area was really neat and taken care of. Nice view from the windows and the balcony.
What could be improved: The fact the place was not quite ready and not as clean as I would expect it to be. The floor in the apartment was dirty and there were greasy smudges on the cabinets and the bathroom had toothpaste stuck to the faucet from previous occupants which was not cleaned… all in all the place was very nice but we had to contact the property manager about the cleanliness of the place… which to their credit they addressed right away. I would have not minded waiting longer to receive the place nice and clean. But again, management stepped up and handled the issue right away in a professional manner. It was in a good location near the mainline station and a short walk to The Old Town and shops. It was adequate for our – Burgess from United Kingdom – April 30, 2025 (8/10)

Check-in was easy and fast. I emailed the host the day before asking if I could check in earlier and how to get the key. The host replied very quickly, agreeing to an early check-in and informing me where the keys would be when we arrived. The apartment was big and spacious, equipped with everything you need for a stay of a few days or even longer. Check-out was quick too. The apartment is in a quiet area but just 5 minutes from the main train station and not even 10 minutes from Old Town Krakow.
What could be improved: I had a great stay overall, but a few minor issues stood out. The bathroom light bulb was out, and the apartment needs a good cleaning. There was a lot of dust.My first and last stay in this apartment. – Edgars from Latvia – September 12, 2023 (7/10)
Flat space good for two family. Parking place in downspace.
What could be improved: Flat didn’t cleaning before we arrive. And staff take a money per this not cleaning apartment. Waterfall in toilet. The shower ceiling has mold. Furniture in bedroom was broken.Perfect stay in perfect place – Ilja from Lithuania – June 10, 2025 (10/10)
