It’s one of those places where the 3-star rating feels almost meaningless because honestly, the location does most of the heavy lifting. When you’re a five-minute walk from the Main Market Square and you can hear the hourly trumpet call from St. Mary’s Basilica (which, fair warning, happens even at night), you start to understand why this place has a 9.1 rating despite being technically mid-range.
The apartments themselves are what I’d call “Polish practical” – they’ve got everything you actually need without trying to impress you with fancy lobbies or whatever. The kitchenettes are surprisingly well-equipped, which matters more than you’d think when you’re staying longer than a few nights. I actually ended up cooking breakfast most mornings because there’s a little grocery store right around the corner on Grodzka Street, and honestly, the coffee situation in the room was better than half the café options nearby. The beds are proper firm (Eastern European style), and the windows – this is key – they actually open wide, which is brilliant during summer when the old town can get stuffy. Just be prepared for some street noise if you’re facing the main drag; these buildings are centuries old, so sound insulation isn’t exactly their strong suit.
What really won me over was how the staff seemed to actually live in Krakow, not just work there. When I asked about getting to Kazimierz district, the guy at reception didn’t just point me toward a taxi – he told me about the specific tram stop that locals use and mentioned which pierogi place to hit up while I was there. That kind of insight is worth its weight in gold when you’re trying to experience a city properly. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward too; none of that corporate hotel rigmarole, just “here’s your key, here’s the WiFi password, the good bakery is two blocks that way.” During my stay in October, the place felt lived-in rather than touristy, which is impressive considering you’re literally in the heart of one of Europe’s most visited old towns. Wow,where do I start. This is by far one of the best places that I have ever stayed at. It's location is perfect. The instructions on how to get in worked perfectly. The river is no more than a five minute walk. The number of restaurants and convenience stores are all easily reached in a few minutes. The apartment itself was very clean and well maintained.
