Walking into what looks like a standard apartment building and finding this absolutely gorgeous 60-square-meter space that feels more like a design magazine shoot than typical vacation rental. I mean, the name “Old Town WAWEL Premium Apartment” sounds a bit fancy-schmancy, but honestly – they’re not overselling it.

The location is pretty much perfect if you want to actually experience Krakow rather than just tourist-trap your way through it. You’re close enough to the castle that you can practically feel the history seeping through the walls, but far enough from the main square that you won’t have drunk bachelor parties stumbling past your windows at 2 AM (trust me, this matters more than you think). The apartment itself has this really nice mix of old-world charm and modern comfort – exposed brick in some spots, sleek kitchen that actually works, and a bathroom where you don’t have to choose between hitting your elbow on the wall or stepping out of the shower entirely. The 60 square meters feels spacious, especially compared to most European city stays where you’re basically living in a glorified closet.

What I really appreciated were the little things that show someone actually thought about how people live, not just how places photograph. There’s proper lighting for reading, enough outlets for all your devices, and – this sounds silly but it’s huge – really good blackout curtains so you can sleep past sunrise if you want. The kitchen has real coffee cups, not those tiny hotel things, and there’s actual counter space for spreading out your pastries from the bakery downstairs. The 8.9 rating makes sense once you’re there; it’s not trying to be a luxury hotel, but everything works and feels thoughtful. The building itself is quiet during the week, though weekends can get a bit lively – but that’s just Krakow being Krakow. Check-in was surprisingly smooth (they actually responded to messages quickly, which feels rare these days), and while parking isn’t included, there’s a decent garage about a five-minute walk away if you’re driving. Honestly, for the price point and that location, you’d be hard-pressed to find something better unless you want to deal with hotel breakfast crowds and key cards that stop working every other day.
