Honestly, when I first walked up to Parkside Fresh Apartments in Old Town, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect – the name’s a bit of a mouthful, right? But you know what, it actually makes sense once you’re there. It’s this interesting hybrid that sits somewhere between a boutique guesthouse and proper apartment living, and the “Upstairs” part of the name becomes clear when you realize most of the good rooms are, well, upstairs with better views of whatever park or green space they’re referencing.

The whole place has this lived-in European vibe that I mean in the best way possible. You’re not getting marble lobbies or those weird overstuffed chairs that look fancy but hurt your back – instead, it feels like staying in a friend’s well-kept apartment building. The rooms are actually quite fresh (living up to that name), with decent kitchenettes that’ll handle more than just instant coffee. I appreciated having real counter space and a fridge that wasn’t just a glorified wine cooler. The beds are comfortable enough, though if you’re used to those pillow-top hotel mattresses, these lean more toward the firmer European style. Check-in was straightforward – no lengthy speeches about amenities you’ll never use, just keys and the WiFi password.

What really works here is the Old Town location itself. You’re walking distance from the kind of narrow streets and little squares that make you feel like you’ve discovered something, even when there are definitely other tourists around. I found myself just wandering out in the evenings, grabbing dinner at places I stumbled across rather than planning everything ahead. The neighborhood has that perfect balance where you’ve got authentic local spots mixed with enough tourist-friendly options that you won’t starve if you don’t speak the language fluently. Parking can be tricky – this is old Europe, after all – but there are options within a few blocks if you’re driving. The 7.7 rating makes sense to me; it’s solidly good without being extraordinary, and honestly, sometimes that’s exactly what you want. You’re paying for location and character more than luxury amenities, and if that’s your speed, you’ll probably leave happy. Just don’t expect a concierge or room service – this is more about having a comfortable, well-located base while you actually explore the city.

  Apartment was spotlessly clean. Had everything needed for a few days stay for example towels, hairdryer etc.
  was approx 5 mins walk to the main square but the location was quiet and peaceful. Shop close by the buy necessities.

  This accomodation is good choice for short trip for few days in krakow. It has very good location very close to the centre. The apartment was clean and the personnel was very kind (we didnt met with them personally we just communicate through booking or whats up and the communication was very friendly and quickly). I appriaciate the choice of self check in (they sent us instructions and the codes how to get to the apartment).

  The location was incredible, on the doorstep of the old town but far enough away to be so peaceful. A 7 minute walk to the main train station and 10 minutes to the bus station. Impeccably clean, lovely little kitchenette stocked with everything you need for a short stay and so comfortable.

  Дуже сучасна кімната, є все необхідне для життя, навіть пральна машина в підвалі. Господарів так і не бачили, але онлайн вони все доступно пояснили, турбувались про те як нам у апартаментах. Дуже класно, що квартира в 5 хвилинах від центру, проте за доступною ціною.
