When you’re walking down Świętego Tomasza street (which locals just call “Tomasz”), you’d never guess there’s this sleek loft space tucked away above all the historic charm. The entrance is pretty understated – I actually walked past it twice on my first visit because I was expecting something more… I don’t know, obvious?

But here’s the thing that got me: once you’re inside, the contrast is incredible. You’ve got these soaring ceilings and modern fixtures, but then you look out the windows and there’s the medieval cityscape right there. The loft setup means you’re getting way more space than most Old Town accommodations – and trust me, after staying in some of those converted 14th-century buildings where you can barely swing a cat, the room to breathe is amazing. The penthouse aspect isn’t just marketing fluff either; you’re actually high enough to catch glimpses of Wawel Castle if you crane your neck from the right windows.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night. You know how the main market square can get pretty rowdy, especially during summer weekends? Well, Tomasz street is just far enough off the main tourist drag that you don’t get the hen parties stumbling past at 2 AM, but you’re still only about a four-minute walk to everything that matters. The Cloth Hall, St. Mary’s Basilica, all those little kazimierz-bound trams – it’s all right there. Parking was actually manageable too, which if you’ve ever tried to drive in Krakow’s Old Town, you’ll know is basically a miracle. They’ve got arrangements with a nearby garage, and the staff actually knows which streets you can use to get there without getting stuck in the pedestrian zones.

I mean, it’s not perfect – the check-in process was a bit scattered when I arrived (lots of key explanations and apartment-style briefings rather than just handing you a card), and the bathroom fixtures, while stylish, are definitely form-over-function in some spots. But honestly? The 8.3 rating feels about right. It’s solidly good without trying to be something it’s not. The LoftAffair people clearly know their niche – they’re going for that boutique, residential vibe rather than traditional hotel service, and if that’s what you’re after, you’ll dig it. Plus, there’s something pretty satisfying about having coffee on your own little terrace while watching the horse carriages clip-clop past below. It’s like getting the best of both worlds – modern comfort with that unmistakable Krakow atmosphere seeping in through the windows.

  The location was excellent, the apartment was very clean, comfortable, and well furnished. The view of the church was an added bonus. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the property to others.
  
  What could be improved: This wasn't a deal breaker, but going up many flights of stairs with luggage may be hard for some. Be aware that there is no elevator, so you will be carrying your luggage up the stairs.

  So many things to like…location, decor, layout, the facilities in the apartment coffee machine and the coffee provided was a nice touch along with all the other little features. Ease of booking and communication.

  The property was a good size, very clean, very well appointed with everything you need for a stay. Two bedrooms with additional sofa beds and two bathrooms made it ideal. The location was great being on the edge of the main square but being on the 4th floor it was very quiet. Communication with the agents was excellent. We only had a few queries and these were answered very promptly. I can’t praise the quality of the property enough.
  
  What could be improved: Not a problem with our party but the less mobile would struggle with 4 flights of stairs.

  The appartment is well equiped with coffee machine, washing machine etc.. It is close to the attractions.
  
  What could be improved: The mattresses were uncomfortable, just one matress and blanket for two persons. Impossible to sleep when one of us moved. Many stairs to climb as it is on 4th floor.
