Okay, so I stumbled onto this place almost by accident – I was actually looking for something else entirely on Dietla Street when I spotted the entrance to Penthouse Orzeszkowa. And honestly? Best travel mistake I’ve made in years. This isn’t your typical Krakow apartment rental, it’s more like someone took a Manhattan loft concept and dropped it right into Old Town’s medieval heart.

The thing that gets you first is the space – I mean, when they say penthouse, they actually mean it. Those massive windows flood everything with light, and you’re literally looking out over red-tiled rooftops that haven’t changed much since the 14th century. The loft setup works brilliantly too, with this open-plan design that somehow feels both modern and respectful of the building’s character. You know what surprised me most? How quiet it stays, even though you’re basically in the thick of everything. Dietla runs parallel to the main tourist drag, so you get all the convenience without the 2 AM stag party noise that plagues some Old Town spots.

What I really appreciate is how they’ve handled the practical stuff – parking in this area is usually a nightmare, but they’ve actually sorted that out (which, if you’ve driven in Krakow’s Old Town, you’ll know is basically a miracle). The kitchen’s properly equipped too, not just the usual two-burner afterthought most places give you. I ended up cooking dinner a couple nights because the local markets are incredible, and honestly, after a day of wandering around Wawel Castle or getting lost in the Cloth Hall crowds, there’s something perfect about coming back to this serene space above it all. The 9.6 rating isn’t just tourist enthusiasm – locals I talked to were genuinely impressed when I mentioned where I was staying. That tells you something right there.

  Clean and in a nice quiet area close to the castle and a short walk from the centre. Well equipped and spacious and welcoming. Good communication with host.

  The apartment was clean and well-equipped, and our stay was overall comfortable.

  Also, the host felt a bit distant and not very warm or accommodating. For example, late check-out (12:00) wasn't possible and no alternatives like baggage storage were offered. Nothing majorly wrong, reason why I scored the stay with a 10 out of 10, but the experience lacked a personal touch.

  Great communications. Light, bright, spotlessly clean, easy 4th floor access by elevator, warm, very comfortable bedrooms, bathrooms, lounge and dining areas – every facility you could wish for, close to the fabulous Wawel Royal Castle, restaurants, cafe’s, shops, gluten-free bakery, gluten-free café, trams and buses. Old Kazimierz is wonderful, the main square still buzzing with bright Christmas decoration (until 2nd February), great food choices (& non-alcoholic / alcoholic) mulled wine – in an array of restaurants, stunning churches and museums. We really enjoyed the Kraków Eye Ferris Wheel at night. We stayed at Penthouse Orzeszkowa for two weeks and really wished we were staying longer. We arrived in snow and left amid signs of coming Spring. The atmosphere here makes a winter visit really worthwhile. Certainly we would love to return to this excellent apartment which was truly a ‘home from home’ … thank you!

  Very nice apartment in very good location – Wawel, oldtown like 5 minutes walk. Around you can find several places for breakfast, small shopping place. The apartment itself is very cosy and has everything you need.

  Great location – didnt realise how good til we got there , small supermarket nearby , river walks , trams and buses on the doorstep and 15 minute walk to the Main square
  
  What could be improved: Smallest feature – there was a big light fitting over the dining room table that was stunning, but everyone hit their heads and there were no instructions on how to use the heating – it was lovely and warm but we needed to turn down the heat

  Excellent location, as allowed close access to Old Town, Jewish district and Wawel Castle. Easy to access front door code and key box on front door.

  What could be improved: Heating system made knocking sound. Needed to turn off radiators during evening and some nights. Turned some back on later. But still warm enough.
  Master bedroom has a glass ceiling with a cover but birds got under this onto the glass. Which if you have a fear of birds could be a problem.

  Appartamento silenzioso, caldo d'estate ma ci sono condizionatori in tutti gli ambienti. Ottima posizione con diversi bar e ristoranti in zona. Situato al 4 piano con ascensore capiente. Ben attrezzato.
  
  What could be improved: L'utilizzo della TV con diversi telecomandi a disposizione è stato quasi impossibile. I canali TV non erano disponibili. Fornire delle istruzioni semplificate sarebbe auspicabile. C'era il minimo x la colazione (caffè e the), aver trovato dei succhi, biscotti acqua sarebbe stato apprezzato.
