Pokoje Gościnne Św. Anny Overview
Honestly, when I first walked up to Pokoje Gościnne Św. Anny on that narrow cobblestone street, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The entrance is pretty understated – you could easily walk past it if you’re not paying attention. But that’s actually part of its charm, you know? It sits right in the heart of Old Town on ul. Św. Anny, which means you’re literally a two-minute walk from the Main Market Square. I mean, you can hear the horse-drawn carriages clip-clopping past in the early morning, and there’s this wonderful smell of fresh bread from the nearby bakeries that drifts through the windows.
What really struck me about this place is how it manages to feel both historic and comfortable at the same time. The building itself has that old Krakow character – thick walls that keep things surprisingly quiet despite being on a street that sees plenty of foot traffic during the day. The rooms are well thought out, not huge by modern hotel standards, but smartly designed with everything you actually need. The beds are solid (I’m picky about mattresses), and the bathrooms are updated without feeling sterile. You’ll notice little touches that show someone cares – good lighting for reading, enough outlets for your devices, that sort of thing. The staff genuinely knows the neighborhood too, which makes a difference when you’re trying to figure out where to grab dinner or which route to take to avoid the tourist crowds.
Here’s what I really appreciate – the location gives you the best of both worlds. You’re close enough to walk to Wawel Castle in about ten minutes, and the Cloth Hall is right there, but you’re tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the chaos of staying directly on the square itself. Parking can be tricky in this part of town (well, it’s tricky everywhere in Old Town honestly), but they’ll point you toward the nearest options, and really, you won’t need a car once you’re settled in. The tram stops are close by if you want to venture out to Kazimierz or other parts of the city. I found myself coming back here between sightseeing just because it felt like a genuine base rather than just a place to crash. The 9-star rating it’s got makes sense – it’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top, but it delivers on the things that matter when you’re exploring a city like Krakow. You’ll sleep well, you’ll be perfectly positioned to explore, and you’ll feel like you’re staying somewhere with actual character rather than just another generic hotel room.
Travelers should reserve a hotel in Krakow at least two months ahead for major events like cultural festivals, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near Market Square.

Perfect location and spacious rooms! – Jaz from New Zealand – August 14, 2025 (8/10)
Really spacious stay! Way bigger than we expected. The cleanliness of the place definitely stood out too.
What could be improved: The only downfall was no air con, however they had provided fans which was a life safer. But it does get quite warm up there during the summer.A reasonably priced hotel in Krakow old town – Kristi from Estonia – August 9, 2025 (9/10)

Wonderful, helpful and friendly staff. Great location. Comfortable beds. Free bag storage. We had a great stay and would definitely stay here again.
What could be improved: The only weakness was the breakfast – it could be better. We found that we left hungry after breakfast. Note that breakfast is not actually provided by the hotel but a restaurant across the road.Great trip – Debra from United States – August 5, 2025 (8/10)
The property was steps away from everything you would like to do in Krakow – restaurants, music and the amazing courtyard.
