You know what’s funny about staying near Wawel Castle? Everyone assumes it’ll be touristy and overpriced, but these Premium Apartments actually get it right. I mean, when you’re literally a stone’s throw from one of Poland’s most famous landmarks, you’d expect some corners to be cut – but honestly, this place surprised me.

The apartments themselves feel more like someone’s stylish city pad than a typical hotel room. The kitchens are actually functional (I’m talking real counter space and decent appliances), which is perfect because let’s be honest – eating out in Kraków every meal gets expensive fast. What really sold me though was stepping onto the balcony that first morning. You’ve got this incredible view where the castle just sort of looms there in the best possible way, and you can hear the Vistula flowing below if you listen carefully. The whole setup made me feel like I was living in the city rather than just passing through, you know?

Here’s what nobody tells you about this area – yes, it gets busy during the day with tour groups heading up to Wawel Hill, but evenings are actually pretty peaceful. The crowds thin out after 6 PM, and suddenly you’re just wandering these medieval streets with locals heading home from work. The staff here seem to get that balance too. They’re not hovering around trying to upsell you on tours (which I appreciated), but they know their stuff when you need directions or restaurant recommendations. I asked about getting to Kazimierz district one evening, and instead of just pointing me toward a taxi, the guy at reception sketched out this little walking route through the quieter backstreets that was honestly magical.

The only minor thing – and this might not bother everyone – is that the walls aren’t super thick, so if you’re unlucky enough to get neighbors who don’t understand inside voices, you’ll hear them. But that’s pretty standard for these converted historical buildings. What impressed me more was how they’ve managed to blend modern comfort with the old architecture. The bathrooms have proper water pressure (miracle!), the Wi-Fi actually works throughout the apartment, and there’s good heating – trust me, if you’re visiting Kraków in winter, that matters more than any fancy amenities.

Bottom line? This place nails what most travelers actually want – a comfortable base that doesn’t feel generic, in a location where you can walk to everything that matters. The 9.2 rating isn’t inflated marketing nonsense; it’s what happens when a hotel focuses on the fundamentals and gets them right. Plus, waking up with Wawel Castle in your backyard never gets old, even after a week.

  The apartment was spacious and had a luxury feel. It was well located and clean. The communication from the host was also very good and they left complimentary coffee pods. The elevator was easy to access and made it possible for my elderly parents to go up and down with ease.

  Great location, easy instructions to enter, apartment is set in a residential block and Is manned 24 hours though this is for the permanent residents so no reception staff, great communications from owners throughout the stay

  This is our second stay here and both times was excellent. Lovely apartments. Clean, spacious. Easy instructions on how to access as we didn't arrive till nearly 1am.

  Walking distance to town square. 2 mins walking distance to the castle.

  Beautifully decorated, had underfloor heating which was perfect for the colder days. Plenty of fresh clean towels to use. Also had a garden which would be lovely to sit in for breakfast in summer but weather was too cold during my visit. Even has an iron if needed.
