Hotel Description
Honestly, when I first walked into this Upstairs apartment on Kapucyńska, I wasn’t expecting much – I mean, it’s tucked into this narrow street that you’d probably miss if you weren’t looking for it. But wow, the name really delivers on that “przestronny” (spacious) promise. The place actually sleeps 12 people without feeling like you’re cramming into a hostel dorm, which is pretty impressive for Old Town where most apartments feel like shoeboxes.
What really got me was how quiet it stays despite being maybe a three-minute walk from the Main Square. You know how some places advertise “city center” but you’re dealing with tram bells at 6 AM and drunk tourists stumbling around? Not here. Kapucyńska sits just off the main tourist drag, so you get that authentic Krakow neighborhood vibe – there’s this little bakery around the corner that locals actually use, and you’ll hear Polish conversations more than English when you’re heading out in the morning. The apartment itself has this modern setup that doesn’t try too hard to be “authentic medieval Krakow” (thank god), but you can still see some original architectural details if you pay attention. The kitchen’s actually functional too – I mean, really functional, not just a mini-fridge and a prayer like some places.
Here’s what sealed it for me though: the Upstairs team clearly knows what they’re doing. Check-in was smooth, no awkward key exchanges or waiting around, and they gave me the kind of local recommendations that you can tell come from people who actually live here, not just manage properties. The 9.1 rating makes total sense when you factor in that you’re getting legitimate space for a big group right in the heart of everything, plus you can walk to Wawel Castle in about ten minutes without dodging the main tourist stampede on Floriańska. Fair warning though – if you’re visiting during peak summer or around Christmas markets, book early because spacious places like this in Old Town don’t stay available long, and honestly, once you experience having room to breathe while being steps from everything Krakow has to offer, you’ll understand why people keep coming back to this spot.
Krakow hotels provide guests with luxurious accommodations in Poland’s cultural capital, known for its perfectly preserved medieval architecture and rich royal history.

Exceptional – Asma from United Arab Emirates – August 10, 2025 (10/10)
How they kept asking us if everything is OK or we needed something and they helped us by sending what can we do in Krakow
Very Good – Gert from Netherlands – March 31, 2025 (8/10)
Nice appartment, especially its location. Cooking is difficult since there is only 1 small frying pan, and with 12 people this is impossible.
Had a very comfortable stay in the apartments in a great location – Stephanie from United Kingdom – November 19, 2023 (9/10)
We were met at the apartment for a small fee and shown around the apartment and key hand over as we had a very late flight, after midnight, which was over normal check in hours.
The apartment was in a great location with lots of room for 8 of us. Only one bathroom but it wasn’t a problem. Rooms were warm and comfortable. The kitchen had cooker fridge/freezer etc. but would benefit having a toaster – our breakfast preference!
What could be improved: You could hear the trams running when in service so earplugs would benefit if this bothered you.Great stay in Krakow with kids – Michel from Qatar – September 8, 2023 (9/10)
Location, easy parking, helpful staff, calm neighborhood, Good facilities, apartment decoration…

Excellent location in the city center. Clean, large comfortable rooms.
What could be improved: I have to admit the tram noise could be a bother at times though it does stop at nightThe apartment was not cleaned and not prepared at all. – Dimitrios from Greece – August 13, 2024 (2/10)
The location
What could be improved: – The apartment was not cleaned, full of spider webs and dirty carpets.
– The beds were not ready (without bedsheets and pillows) and dirty.
– We found a used sock and bed sheets in a wardrobe from the previous residents.
– There were no towels, toilet paper, and shampoo.
– We lost the first day of our staying in Krakow pending from the owners to clean the apartment and to provide us with essentials. Finally a polite lady came and made only the beds at 19:30 even though the checkin was at 16:00. The cleaning crew never appeared.
– The owners offered us a 350PLN refund through booking.com for the cleaning and for the inconvenience with the bedding. Up to now I didn't receive it.Good experience , great location . – Iwona from United Arab Emirates – August 27, 2023 (7/10)
