Przytulny apartament w centrum Krakowa Overview
You know what struck me first about this place? The name actually delivers – “Przytulny” means cozy in Polish, and honestly, that’s exactly what you get when you walk into this apartment tucked away in Zwierzyniec. I mean, this isn’t some sterile hotel room situation; it’s more like staying at a friend’s place who happens to have really good taste and lives in one of Krakow’s most underrated neighborhoods.
The location on Dunin-Wąsowicza street is pretty clever, actually. Most tourists get stuck in the Old Town thinking that’s where all the action is, but locals know Zwierzyniec is where you want to be if you’re planning to stay more than a couple days. You’re literally a fifteen-minute walk to the main square (I timed it), but you’re also right next to Błonia Park – this massive green space where Krakovians go to actually breathe. Plus, and this matters if you’re traveling in summer, you can escape the tourist crowds here. The street itself is quiet enough that you’ll sleep well, but busy enough that you don’t feel isolated. There’s a decent grocery store about three blocks down, and honestly, the local pierogi place nearby (just look for the line of locals at lunch) beats anything you’ll find in the tourist zone.
The apartment itself feels lived-in in the best way – comfortable furniture that’s actually comfortable, not just Instagram-pretty, and little touches that show someone put thought into the space. The 7.7 rating makes sense to me; it’s not luxury, but it’s solid and reliable with character. I appreciated things like having proper hangers (you’d be surprised how many places skimp on this), decent water pressure, and windows that actually open wide – crucial during those unexpectedly warm Polish spring days. The kitchen is small but functional if you’re the type to grab fresh bread and cheese from the market, though don’t expect to cook elaborate meals. One thing worth noting: if you’re traveling with heavy luggage, ask about the stairs situation when you book. This is an older building, and while that adds charm, it also means no elevator. But honestly, after walking around Krakow’s cobblestones all day, a few flights of stairs won’t kill you, and the neighborhood’s authentic residential vibe more than makes up for any minor inconveniences.

The studio was in a good location. Walkable to the main areas or public transport within 5 minutes. It did have all you need for a short stay. Great to have a lift to 5th floor.
What could be improved: The windows were really dirty. Could not use Balcony as full of pigeon pooh. There was a smell occasionally in the bathroom. The sofa bed was not very comfortable. The owner would be better to put in a proper bed. The apartment was not fully clean as bits in the drawers.Very Good – Niki from Greece – January 1, 2025 (8/10)
Close to the city center. Very helpful host.

Good location, close to old town with handy transport links to get further afield. Washing machine and kitchenette were also really handy after a few weeks on the road.
What could be improved: Fold out sofa is not the most comfortable to sleep in but is fine for a couple of nights.Superb – Natallia from Belarus – May 5, 2024 (10/10)
Very nice place, perfect location. We didn't have to use public transport except for getting to the railway station. The communication with the host was excellent. We highly recommend this apartment!

What could be improved: Washing machines didn’t work – owner didn’t reply to message

Lining Was thrown into bag and left on sofa and then again in repeated in the morningDepends on what you're looking for but rather bad – Karolina from Poland – March 24, 2025 (5/10)
1. Location 2. Heating was on 3. Someone actually secured wifi with a password after I refused to do it myself
What could be improved: 1. The window in the bathroom has no blades and basically everyone could see me from the waist up (had to kneel down and wait for a few minutes for the window to get foggy before standing up and carrying on with the shower…)
2. Wifi wasn't secured with a password (after reporting it I was asked to set it up myself) 3. The person I was in touch with via messages not once introduced himself so didn't have a clue who I was talking to 4. Lack of instructions (how to use the washer, induction stove, throw away trash, open the gate downstairs from the inside, which key is for the trash). 5. Nothing about this place could be described with the word cozy, rather meditation cave or something like that. 6. Dirty parts of the apartment (the wall, shower cabin, washer drawer). 7. Lack of toilet cleaning products (I was staying there for a week). 8. Lack of basic spices in the kitchen, oil or tea.Lots of problems, but made worse by a host that obviously doesn't care – Simon from Netherlands – January 12, 2024 (1/10)
Except for the washing machine and the heating, all other facilities seem to work as expected.
It's in a residential building which feels safe; neighbours are friendly.
What could be improved: The host was far too unresponsive. I reported problems with the washing machine, and the radiator control which was snapped off and left next to the window, before I got there. I got half a response about the washing machine, but neither problem was fixed during my 5 days.
So I was unable to wash my clothes, and the heating was stuck on 100% (it got as low as -18ºC outside, so lucky it wasn't stuck on 0, but it got far too hot inside)
The drain to the shower was blocked — I had to take off the cover, and remove a disgusting amount of everyone else's hair.
There was a layer of dust on most rungs of the towel rack.
Finally the controls to enter/exit are outside of the gate, and with no apparent way to open it from the inside. I'm 1.88m tall, and it's not exactly comfortable for me to reach the controls to reach to the outside and enter the code — probably harder for other people.
