You know what caught me off guard about Rainbow Apartments 1 Premium? The name makes it sound like some budget place, but honestly, stepping into this converted historic building on Szeroka street feels more like discovering someone’s beautifully renovated pied-à-terre. I mean, you’re literally on one of Krakow’s most atmospheric cobblestone streets – the kind where you half expect a horse-drawn carriage to clip-clop past your window (though thankfully, that’s mostly just the occasional late-night reveler these days).

The location is actually ridiculous in the best way possible. You’re maybe a two-minute stumble from the main square, but tucked just far enough into the old Jewish quarter that you escape the worst of the tourist crowds. I loved that I could grab my morning coffee from that little place around the corner on Józefa street – locals call it simply “the corner café” – and still make it to St. Mary’s Basilica before the tour groups descended. The apartments themselves have this perfect balance of old-world character and modern comfort that so many places try for but mess up completely. Thick walls mean you actually sleep well (crucial when you’re dealing with jet lag), and the kitchenettes are properly equipped – not just for show like some places. The WiFi is solid too, which, let’s be honest, matters more than we’d like to admit.

What really sets this place apart though is how it feels lived-in rather than hotel-sterile. The furnishings have personality without being quirky for the sake of it, and there’s enough space to actually unpack your suitcase instead of living out of it for a week. The staff knows the neighborhood inside and out – they steered me toward this incredible pierogi spot on Bożego Ciała street that I never would’ve found otherwise. Parking can be a bit of a dance (welcome to Old Town anywhere in Europe), but they’ll sort you out with options nearby. The 8.3 rating feels about right – it’s genuinely excellent without being precious about it, and honestly, the price point makes way more sense than dropping serious cash on one of those big chain hotels that could be anywhere in the world.

  The kitchen is clean, very stylish and cosy. It's equiped with basic devices.
  Getting to the facility was super-easy thanks to the entrance code. Also thanks to that I and my companion traveler did not have to coordinate for the key and were independent from each other. This is really a great and a very modern feature that helps a lot.
  The apartment is very clean and has all the necessary things to include a washer.
  
  What could be improved: The room for three people is quite tiny. Spending time there other than sleeping (or watching TV laying on the bed) would not be very comfortable. Luckily, we only needed that room for sleeping. So, this property is very good for tourists, solo or a couple, who don't plan to spend much time in the room.
  Coffee-lovers would appreciate a coffee-maker and a microvawe would also be helpful. Two towels per person instead of one would be good too.
  I booked the facility for one person by mistake and realized my mistake the very same day. When I asked the facility to change my booking they overcharged me for that and I had to pay a bigger price than if I had booked it via booking for two people from the very beginning. This was disappointing, but altogether it was still a good price for this value.

  Perfect for 4 people. Didn’t use some of the amenities but it would cater for all travelers whether dining inn etc.
