Red Kurka Apartments Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Red Kurka Apartments on Św. Gertrudy street, you immediately feel like you’ve stumbled onto something special. This three-star property sits right in the heart of Kraków’s Old Town, and I mean literally — you’re about as central as you can get without camping in the Main Square itself. The building has that classic Kraków charm, tucked into a quiet street that somehow manages to feel peaceful despite being surrounded by all the action.
Location Magic
Honestly, the location here is pretty incredible — couples seem to think so too, rating it 9.5 out of 10. You can walk to the Main Square in maybe three minutes, which means you’re close enough to pop back for a quick break between sightseeing sessions. What I really appreciate is that Św. Gertrudy street itself isn’t one of those tourist-packed thoroughfares, so you get the best of both worlds. The Cloth Hall, St. Mary’s Basilica, all those postcard-perfect spots are right there, but you’re not dealing with crowds outside your door at 7 AM.
The Apartment Experience
The apartment setup here works really well, especially if you’re staying more than a night or two. Each unit comes with its own kitchen, which honestly saved me quite a bit of money — Kraków’s restaurant scene is fantastic, but sometimes you just want to grab some local bread and cheese from the market and have a quiet breakfast. The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable, nothing fancy but everything you actually need. The decor leans traditional Polish without going overboard on the folk art theme. Guests consistently praise the thoughtful layout and attention to detail.
Practical Perks
Here’s something that’ll matter if you’re driving — they actually have private parking available, which is pretty rare in Old Town Kraków. Most places around here, you’re stuck hunting for street spots or walking from some distant garage. The staff knows the neighborhood inside and out too, and they’re genuinely helpful with recommendations that go beyond the obvious tourist spots. I got pointed toward this little wine bar just around the corner that I never would’ve found otherwise.
Why Guests Love It
With an 8.8 rating and that 9.3 location score, it’s clear people appreciate what Red Kurka Apartments delivers — a genuine Old Town experience without the tourist trap feeling. You’re staying where locals actually live and work, not in some sanitized hotel district. The value proposition makes sense too; you get the independence of an apartment with hotel-style service when you need it. It’s the kind of place that works whether you’re here for a romantic weekend or a longer exploration of the city — you’ll feel settled rather than just passing through.
Hotels near me in Krakow offer convenient access to the medieval center, where guests can easily walk to St. Mary’s Basilica, Cloth Hall, and traditional Polish restaurants.

Susan from United Kingdom (9/10)
The apartment was characterful and comfortable. Very spacious. Dasha had supplied the necessaries of tea, coffee, sugar, salt and oil. Also some flavourings for cooking. This made preparing a meal much easier. The location is at the edge of the old town and it’s an easy ten minute walk to the market square the Jewish quarter or the castle. We wished we could have stayed longer and would stay there again.

The apartment is in a great location near the main square. Very easy to walk to major sites, as well as meet any transportation for sites outside the city center. The toilet and shower are separate, which was actually helpful with a family of 6.
