Residence 9 Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Residence 9 on Szewska Street, you immediately know you’ve found something special. The building sits right in the heart of Krakow’s Old Town — you’re literally steps from the Main Market Square, which makes all the difference when you’re exploring this city. The entrance has that understated elegance you hope for in a three-star property, nothing flashy but clearly well-maintained and thoughtfully designed. Every detail speaks to careful attention and respect for guests seeking authentic charm.

Location & Neighborhood

This spot on Szewska is perfect for couples, as evidenced by the 9.8 location rating from couples. You can walk to St. Mary’s Basilica in about two minutes, and the Cloth Hall is right there too. What makes this location exceptional is that while you’re in the absolute center of everything, Szewska Street itself isn’t one of those chaotic tourist thoroughfares — it retains character without constant noise. The restaurants around here are fantastic, and having that many dining options within a block or two really matters when you’re tired from sightseeing. The neighborhood rewards exploration at every turn.

The Room Experience

The beds at Residence 9 are genuinely comfortable — surprisingly so for a three-star property. I’ve stayed in upscale hotels where the mattresses were disappointing, so this was a pleasant surprise. The rooms have that clean, modern feel without being sterile, and there’s enough space to actually unpack your suitcase properly. The bathrooms are well-appointed and thoughtfully laid out, and the whole setup just works for a city break where you want comfort without unnecessary extras. The attention to practical comfort is evident throughout.

Breakfast & Dining

The breakfast situation here is impressive — they offer Continental, Italian, Full English, American, vegetarian, and gluten-free options. That’s quite a range for a property this size. What’s particularly smart is they offer breakfast to go, which is perfect when you want to grab something quick and head out to beat the crowds at Wawel Castle or the Jewish Quarter. This flexibility shows they understand how travelers actually want to experience Krakow. The kitchen team clearly takes pride in their work.

Why Guests Love It

The 8.8 rating reflects what you get here — solid comfort in an unbeatable location without premium pricing. Couples especially appreciate it, as the 9.8 location score from pairs demonstrates, probably because you can walk everywhere romantic in this city from your front door. The combination of genuinely comfortable beds, a thoughtful breakfast spread, and being able to step outside into medieval Krakow makes Residence 9 one of those places where the practical elements work seamlessly. You’re free to focus on why you came to this beautiful city in the first place. The apartment-style setup with parking options adds to the appeal for those needing flexibility.

Travelers should reserve a hotel in Krakow at least two months ahead for major events like cultural festivals, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near Market Square.

The location is amazing, right in the heart of the old town. The property itself is great, and my room was on the top floor, so it was quiet. However, the street can get noisy due to nearby clubs and the influx of tourists. The room wasn’t large, but it had everything I needed. The hosts were very nice. They greeted me, showed me the room, and explained everything.
