Roma Apartment – LoftAffair Overview

Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places in Krakow’s Old Town, and most of them are either overpriced tourist traps or charming but cramped medieval buildings where you bump your head on the ceiling. Roma Apartment – LoftAffair is actually different – it’s tucked right on Świętego Jana street, which honestly is one of those perfect locations where you’re close enough to everything but not drowning in the crowds stumbling out of the bars at 2am.

The loft setup is what really got me. I mean, you walk in and there’s this sense of space that’s pretty rare in the Old Town – most apartments here feel like they were carved out of ancient stone buildings (because they were), but this one breathes a bit. The design hits that sweet spot between modern comfort and respecting the historic neighborhood vibe. You know what I appreciated? The windows actually open properly, and since you’re on Świętego Jana, you get those classic cobblestone street views without the noise from the main tourist drags like Floriańska. Well, except during summer weekends – then all bets are off, but that’s just Krakow for you.

What really sold me on the place was the little details that show someone actually thought about what travelers need. The kitchen setup is functional enough that you can make proper coffee in the morning (crucial, because Polish hotel coffee is… let’s say it’s improving), and there’s decent storage space for your stuff. The location means you’re literally a five-minute walk to the Main Square – I timed it – but also close to some of the quieter streets where locals actually hang out. There’s this great little bakery just around the corner on Sławkowska that most tourists never find, and honestly, starting your morning there instead of fighting for overpriced pastries in the square makes all the difference. The 8.5 rating feels about right – it’s not perfect (the shower pressure could be better, and parking nearby is still the usual Old Town nightmare), but it delivers on what matters most: a comfortable base that doesn’t feel like every other cookie-cutter hotel room you’ve ever stayed in. If you’re the type who wants to experience Krakow like you live there for a few days instead of just checking off tourist boxes, this place gets it.

Reviews of Roma Apartment – LoftAffair

  • Brilliant apartment, i wood stay here again – Beverley from United Kingdom – July 18, 2025 (9/10)

    Location, cleanliness,

What could be improved: Unable to use the Key safe, bathroom lock sticking, a little noisy with work men

  • The negatives I’ve mentioned would not stop me booking this apartment again, it’s perfect location and facilities are pe – Andrew from United Kingdom – March 2, 2025 (7/10)

The location is perfect just a 2 minute walk from the main square.
The apartment was well stocked and a good size ( there were 5 of us ) was handy having a bathroom and a separate toilet room.

What could be improved: There were a few cosmetic issues ( some peeling paint etc ) but nothing that makes the apartment look a mess.
We traveled in February the heating system kept us warm but we all found it to warm with no way to cool the apartment, yes we turned the thermostatic radiator valve down but the apartment still got really hot at night, with no windows to open it was hard to regulate the temperature.
We did find a fan in the dressing room which solved the problem.

  • Great stay, great prices with a perfect location – Lewis from United Kingdom – January 6, 2025 (10/10)

Perfect location 2 minutes from the square

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • We have had a great time here. Thanks so much. – Melissa from Sweden – September 2, 2024 (9/10)

The property is a perfect place for the tourists who come here to explore Krakow. The location is really in the heart of Krakow with everything in the walking distance. There are all necessary facilities in the apartment. It is clean and comfortable.

What could be improved: Due to the noise from the street, we had to close the windows,so it is very badly ventilated and hot inside (No air conditioning ).

  • Great value – Vegard from Norway – July 11, 2024 (9/10)

    Nice place and good location

What could be improved: Some noice from the street. Should have had AC

  • Exceptional – Philip from United Kingdom – May 8, 2024 (10/10)

Central location but still quiet at night. Bars restaurants on your doorstep, main square 2 min walk away.

  • A great apartment only 3 minutes walk from main square – Helen from United Kingdom – April 27, 2024 (10/10)

Clean, spacious and very near attractions

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Perfect – Kapka from Bulgaria – April 7, 2024 (10/10)

The apartment was with top location. And was very cozy, nice and warm. We arrive 2 hours earlier, and asked for earlier accommodation, our hosts provide as a new locker code and we were very grateful.

  • Fantastic location, clean comfortable and homely, would definitely come back! – Karl from United Kingdom – November 15, 2023 (8/10)

Location was very central, so close to the main square, was spacious and had everything we needed.

Spacious and fairly modern inside, the additional sofa bed was extremely comfortable and like a proper bed when made up.

There was LOADS is storage including a walk-in wardrobe, there were lots of coat hangers and wardrobe and additional cupboard space with hangers plus an iron and ironing board too.

We loved the second toilet/sink as 4 people getting ready sharing just the one bathroom would have taken a lot longer.

The kitchen is well stocked with lots of nice Crockery and cutlery, plus even had more cooking pots and pans etc, we were able to prepare a really nice breakfast from local bakery and shops of meats and cheese everyday.

We had to message as the provided WiFi code didn’t work, the staff were polite and extremely quick to respond for us to help.

What could be improved: It’s not a fault of the property but behind the Apartment is a Courtyard where all of the staff from the Next door Restaurant smoke day and night, also they receive deliveries of products on large metal trollies sometimes very early in the morning that are extremely noisy and woke us up a few times, for a few days it wasn’t the biggest of issues as we weren’t planing on laying in but some people could get annoyed but this.

The decor is really nice and neutral colours, there are a few parts of the Apartment where some minor attention is needed, some wallpaper is coming away in the hallway and one of the bedrooms for example, but it was very clean and comfortable it’s just minor decor issues that easily rectified would make it even fresher looking.
