Sewa Apartments Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Sewa Apartments on Szewska Street, you immediately know you’ve hit the jackpot location-wise. I mean, you’re literally steps from the Main Market Square — I could hear the horse-drawn carriages clattering by from my window. The building itself has that classic Krakow charm, tucked right into the medieval streetscape, though honestly the entrance is pretty understated. You might even walk past it if you’re not paying attention, which actually adds to the authentic local feel rather than screaming “tourist accommodation.”

Location & Neighborhood

This three-star property sits in what locals call the real heart of Old Town, and they’re not exaggerating. You can stumble out the front door and be at St. Mary’s Basilica in about two minutes — I timed it. The location score of 9.9 makes perfect sense when you realize you’re surrounded by the best restaurants, bars, and sights without being on one of those crazy busy tourist strips. Szewska Street itself is quieter than the main drags but still buzzing with that Old Town energy. Plus, you know what’s great? Late-night pierogi runs are incredibly easy from here.

The Apartment Experience

The apartments themselves feel more like staying in a local friend’s place than a typical hotel room. Each unit has its own character — mine had exposed brick walls and these lovely high ceilings that made the space feel bigger than it actually was. The kitchenette was surprisingly well-equipped (I managed to make coffee and heat up some oscypek cheese I’d bought at the market), and the bathroom was modern without losing the building’s historic charm. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly, which honestly can be hit-or-miss in these old buildings, so that was a relief.

Daily Life & Practicalities

What I really appreciated was how the staff handled check-in — they were genuinely helpful with local recommendations rather than just handing over keys and disappearing. The building stays pretty quiet even though you’re in the thick of things, though you’ll definitely hear some street life, especially on weekend evenings. There’s no fancy lobby or concierge service, but you don’t really need that when everything is right outside your door. The cleaning was thorough, and they restocked basics without being intrusive about it.

Why Guests Love It

Couples especially seem to fall for this place — and I can see why with that 9.9 location rating for two-person trips. There’s something romantic about having your own little apartment in medieval Krakow, being able to wander to dinner and drinks without any planning or taxi rides. The value is solid for what you get, especially considering you’re paying Old Town prices but getting actual space to spread out. It’s not upscale by any means, but Sewa Apartments delivers exactly what most travelers actually want: a comfortable, authentic base in the absolute best part of the city where you can live like a temporary local rather than just another tourist passing through.

Great location within the old town but set back from the street making it calm and quiet. Good facilities although we didn’t use tv or cooking facilities, only washed and slept in the apt as we had a very busy itinerary.
