Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to Starowiślna 48 – it’s tucked right into this beautiful stretch of Old Town that gets pretty busy during the day, but ST48 Apartment completely surprised me. The building itself has that classic Krakow charm you see everywhere around here, but once you’re inside, it’s clear someone actually thought about what travelers need instead of just throwing together some generic setup.

The apartment feels surprisingly spacious for Old Town standards, and I mean that – you know how these historic buildings can be pretty cramped. What really got me was the attention to details that actually matter when you’re staying somewhere for more than a night. The kitchen is properly equipped (not just a mini-fridge and a prayer), and the wifi actually works well enough for video calls, which honestly saved me during a work trip last spring. The windows face Starowiślna street, so you get a bit of that authentic city buzz during the day, but it quiets down nicely in the evenings. If you’re a super light sleeper, maybe pack earplugs for weekend nights when people are heading back from the bars around Plac Nowy, but it’s really not bad.

Location-wise, you’re literally a five-minute walk from the Main Square – I timed it because I’m weird like that – and even closer to some of the better local spots that tourists don’t always find. There’s this little bakery called Cukiernia Sowa just around the corner that does incredible pączki on weekends, and you’re right between the Jewish Quarter and the main tourist area, which means you can duck into Kazimierz when Old Town gets too crowded. Parking can be tricky (welcome to Krakow’s Old Town), but there’s a paid lot about three blocks away that’s not terrible if you’re driving. Most people just take the train from the airport though – the bus drops you pretty close and it’s way less stressful. The whole experience feels like staying in someone’s well-maintained city apartment rather than a sterile hotel room, which I personally love but some people might find too casual. Check-in was smooth when I stayed, though I’d definitely message ahead about arrival times since it’s not a 24-hour front desk situation.

Hotels near me in Krakow offer convenient access to the medieval center, where guests can easily walk to St. Mary’s Basilica, Cloth Hall, and traditional Polish restaurants.

  We had a wonderful stay at this apartment in Krakow! It was super clean, fully equipped, and in a perfect location—just a short walk to the city center and Kazimierz. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we even booked an Auschwitz tour with convenient pick-up from the apartment. A lovely touch was the free cold water and small items in the fridge, which made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Krakow!
