It’s tucked away on this quiet residential street that feels completely removed from the tourist chaos, but you’re literally a 10-minute walk from the Main Square. I mean, Rakowicka isn’t one of those streets tourists usually stumble onto – it’s where actual Krakovians live, with their little corner shops and cafes that don’t have English menus. The apartment itself sits in this restored building that’s got character without being stuffy about it. When I first walked up to 22D, I was honestly a bit skeptical (the entrance is pretty unassuming), but once you get inside, it’s clear someone actually thought about what travelers need.

The space has this perfect balance – it feels homey without trying too hard to be Instagram-worthy. The steam element they mention in the name actually makes sense when you see the bathroom setup; there’s this rainfall shower that creates this whole spa-like atmosphere, which was honestly a godsend after walking around cobblestones all day. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. Old Town can be… well, let’s just say drunk tourists aren’t always considerate, but this little pocket stays peaceful. The apartment faces away from any of the main party routes, so you actually get decent sleep. Plus, there’s proper blackout curtains – small detail, but you’ll thank me when you’re not woken up by summer sunrise at 5 AM.

Here’s the thing that really sold me on this place: the local connection. The hosts clearly know Krakow inside and out, and they’ll point you toward spots that aren’t in every guidebook. There’s this tiny pierogi place about three blocks away that I never would have found otherwise, and honestly, it was better than anything in the touristy areas. The apartment comes with actual practical amenities too – a proper kitchen if you want to grab groceries from the Żabka down the street, decent Wi-Fi that doesn’t cut out every ten minutes, and enough space that you’re not living out of a suitcase on the floor. Parking can be a bit tricky in this neighborhood (street parking mostly), but that’s true for pretty much anywhere in Old Town. The 9.2 rating isn’t just inflated review padding – this place genuinely delivers on being a comfortable base for exploring Krakow without paying hotel prices or dealing with hotel nonsense. It’s one of those finds that makes you feel like you’re staying in the real city, not just visiting it.
