What really sold me on this place was the attention to small things that actually matter when you’re traveling. The rooms have proper blackout curtains (not those thin hotel curtains that let in every streetlight), and the beds are that perfect firmness where you don’t wake up feeling like you slept on a marshmallow or a brick. The bathrooms have good water pressure — I know it sounds basic, but you’d be surprised how many supposedly luxury hotels mess this up. There’s also this nice touch where they’ve managed to soundproof really well without making the rooms feel like sealed boxes. You get that sense of being in a living, breathing city without the 3 AM motorcycle revving that can ruin a good night’s sleep.

The service strikes that sweet spot between attentive and not hovering. Check-in was smooth, no weird upselling attempts, and when I needed restaurant recommendations that weren’t the usual tourist traps, they came through with places I actually wanted to return to. The concierge team clearly knows the neighborhood — they suggested this little wine bar around the corner that I never would’ve found on my own, and it ended up being one of those perfect evenings where you meet interesting people and stay way later than planned.

Look, with a 9.4 rating, you’d expect it to be good, but sometimes those numbers don’t translate to the actual experience. This time they do. It’s the kind of place where everything just works without feeling corporate or soulless. The design feels thoughtful rather than trying to Instagram its way into your wallet, and there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that treats you like an actual person rather than a walking credit card. If you’re looking for a place that’ll give you a proper base for exploring while making you feel like you’ve got good taste in hotels, this is it.

  Stradom House is a stunning hotel, with beautiful art deco interiors and incredible staff who cannot do enough for you. My friend and I enjoyed the cocktail bar and DJ and the food at the restaurant was delicious. There was a great selection for breakfast and the Ala carte menu was great.

  Beautiful building and room and helpful staff – we had an issue that room didn’t appear to be the one we’d booked so got upgraded to a twin suite which was lovely. Location great between old town and old Jewish quarter.
