Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about the Sunflower Apartment on Kalwaryjska? It’s actually tucked away in this quiet residential pocket that feels completely removed from the tourist chaos, but you’re still ridiculously close to everything that matters in Krakow. I mean, Kalwaryjska Street itself is one of those lovely tree-lined roads that locals use as a shortcut to avoid the crowded main drags – honestly, I watched more residents with their grocery bags and dog walkers than I did tour groups, which was refreshing. The building at 34A has this understated Polish charm; nothing flashy, but you can tell someone put real thought into the renovation. When I walked up to 22B, the hallway smelled faintly of fresh paint and wood polish – those little details that suggest the place is actually maintained, not just marketed.
What really impressed me was how they’ve managed to create this sense of space without the sterile apartment-hotel vibe you get in so many places. The windows are generous (crucial in Polish winters, trust me), and there’s something about the way the morning light hits the rooms that makes you want to linger over coffee instead of rushing out to sightsee. The kitchen setup is properly functional too – I actually cooked a few meals there, which you can’t say about most hotel kitchenettes. You’re about a fifteen-minute walk from the Old Town, but here’s the thing locals know: you can hop on the tram right at the end of the street and be in Rynek Główny in maybe eight minutes. Plus, there’s this fantastic milk bar (bar mleczny) just two blocks down where you can get pierogi that’ll ruin you for the tourist versions forever.
I’ll be honest, the 9.8 rating had me skeptical at first – seemed too good to be true, you know? But after staying there, I actually get it. It’s not about luxury amenities or concierge service; it’s about getting the fundamentals so right that you forget you’re not in your own apartment. The Wi-Fi actually works consistently (crucial for anyone trying to stay connected), the shower pressure is solid, and – this might sound weird – but the bed linens smell like they’ve been line-dried, not just industrial-washed. The only minor thing I’d mention is that the street can get a bit lively on weekend evenings with people heading to the bars further up Kalwaryjska, but honestly, it’s more ambient chatter than actual noise. If you’re looking for that sweet spot between authentic Krakow neighborhood life and easy access to the main attractions, this place nails it. I’d definitely book it again, and I’m pretty picky about where I stay.
To book hotel in Krakow during the famous Krakow Film Festival season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts history enthusiasts and cultural travelers from around the world.

Well designed, all needs are thought. I didn't have to look for or buy anything for my 4 night stay. Everything was the same as in the photos.

Worth booking! – Marija from Malta – April 22, 2025 (10/10)
Apartment came with everything needed, it was also very clean and as beautiful as the pictures. Not to mention that the owner was also very nice and helped when needed.
While walking to the old town would have taken round about 20-30 min, the tram that is 2 min away from the apartment took us wherever we needed, making this apartment’s location perfectWonderful – Yvonne from Ireland – April 19, 2025 (9/10)
The apartment was very comfortable and had everything we needed. It was exceptionally clean and located within a 20 minute walk from the Old Town centre.
cosy & scenic – Jordan from United Kingdom – April 9, 2025 (10/10)
The apartment is gorgeous and not too far from the old town. We enjoyed the walks along the river into town and the castle. The apartment is fully catered for which was great. The shower is powerful, both bed and sofa bed very comfortable. Couldn’t have asked for anything more! We had a great weekend and will hopefully be back in the summer
We had an amazing time – and the accommodation was a very good starting point – Rose from United Kingdom – March 26, 2025 (9/10)
The location was very good
The apartment far exceeded our expectations
It was a great base to get around
What could be improved: The shower enclosure was very small – when you turned around or washed yourself you tended to switch the water off inadvertentlyExceptional – Hellrey from Ukraine – February 10, 2025 (10/10)
The apartment was simply amazing! Very clean, tidy, with high-quality renovations and a stylish interior that added a special charm to our stay. Everything was well thought out, and my girlfriend and I were absolutely delighted. We will definitely come back again!
