You know what caught me off guard about Św Tomasza Old Town? I expected another touristy spot trading on location alone, but this place actually gets the details right. Walking up to the entrance on św. Tomasza street – and honestly, good luck pronouncing that correctly on your first try – you’re literally steps from the Main Square but tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the constant buzz of street performers and horse carriages clip-clopping past your window at 7 AM.

The building itself has that solid, lived-in feel that you get with properly renovated historical properties in Krakow. I mean, you can tell they put real thought into keeping the character while making sure everything actually works (the shower pressure was surprisingly decent, which… let’s be honest, that’s not always a given in Old Town hotels). What I really appreciated was how they handled the whole Sun & Snow branding thing – it’s not plastered everywhere like some chain takeover, more like they just quietly made sure the service standards were up to par. The staff genuinely seemed to know the neighborhood too, which made a difference when I needed dinner recommendations that weren’t just the obvious tourist traps on Floriańska.

Here’s the thing about staying right on św. Tomasza – you’re in this sweet spot where you can stumble back from Szpitalna street’s bars in about three minutes, but you can also walk to the Jewish Quarter or even up to Wawel Castle without feeling like you need to plan an expedition. The 8.8 rating honestly makes sense once you’re there for a day or two. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but everything just… works. The rooms are comfortable without being flashy, the common areas feel authentic rather than staged, and there’s this subtle attention to cleanliness that you notice more when it’s missing elsewhere. I stayed there during shoulder season in October, and while the tourist crowds were lighter, the hotel still felt lively – not like those places that go completely dead once summer ends. The only minor thing I’d mention is that street-facing rooms can pick up some noise from late-night foot traffic, but honestly, if you’re bothered by the sounds of people enjoying Krakow’s nightlife, you probably picked the wrong neighborhood anyway.

  Sicuramente l'estetica dell'appartamento è ben curata e affascinante. La posizione è più che ottima, centralissima. Il bagno molto bello. Non scontato il fatto che avesse un ascensore.
  
  What could be improved: Non è una casa del tutto adatta a 5 persone. Mancano le stoviglie e i piatti. C'è solo un matrimoniale e gli altri sono divani letto non particolarmente comodi. Pochi armadi dove mettere i propri vestiti. Qualche problema nell'entrare in casa, perché ci era stato dato il codice di ingresso all'edificio ma non quello per l'appartamento. Il wifi non ha funzionato per tutto il soggiorno nonostante il modem risultasse acceso.
