When I first walked into the lobby, I actually paused for a second because the design hits this sweet spot between contemporary and classic that doesn’t feel forced. The “Handwritten Collection” branding isn’t just marketing speak here; there’s real attention to detail in the way they’ve put this place together.

The location is pretty brilliant, actually. I mean, you’re right in the center without being stuck on one of those crazy busy streets where trams are clanging by at 6 AM. It’s close enough that you can easily walk to the Main Square – we’re talking maybe 5-7 minutes at a leisurely pace – but tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the constant stream of tour groups. The staff seemed to really know their stuff too, which I appreciate. Not just the usual “turn left and walk straight” directions, but actual insights about when to hit the popular spots to avoid crowds, which restaurants locals actually eat at (not just the ones with English menus), that sort of thing.

What really sold me on this place though was how it felt after a long day of wandering around the Old Town. The rooms have this calm, sophisticated vibe – good lighting, comfortable beds that don’t feel like they came from a catalog, and honestly, the soundproofing is solid. I stayed there during one of the busier weekends in summer, and while you could hear a bit of life from the streets, it wasn’t intrusive. The bathrooms are well-designed too, with proper water pressure and space to actually spread out your stuff. Small thing, but the air conditioning worked perfectly, which matters more than you’d think when you’re dealing with those unexpectedly warm Krakow evenings. Check-in was smooth – no lengthy waits or complicated procedures – and the whole experience just felt… well, professional but not stuffy. At a 9.3 rating, you’d expect something special, and it delivers without trying too hard to impress you.

  A modern and comfortable hotel 20 minutes on foot from main square and Old town. Convenient location for trams as well.
