You know what surprised me most about Tower Street Apartments? How quiet it actually gets at night, despite being right in the thick of things. I mean, you’d expect some street noise with a name like that, but once you close the windows – which are surprisingly thick, by the way – it’s peaceful enough to sleep soundly.

The building itself has this sort of understated charm that grows on you. It’s not trying to be flashy or pretend it’s something it isn’t, which I honestly found refreshing after staying at places that oversell themselves. The apartments are properly spacious – and I mean actually spacious, not “European cozy” spacious where you can barely open your suitcase. There’s real storage space, a kitchen that you could genuinely cook in if you wanted to skip restaurants for a night, and windows that let in decent light during the day. The furnishing is pretty straightforward, nothing fancy but everything works properly. I particularly appreciated that the shower had actual water pressure – you’d be amazed how often that’s not the case in apartment-style accommodations.

What really won me over was how the staff handled things. Check-in was smooth without being overly rehearsed, and when I had a question about the heating system (took me a minute to figure out the controls), someone came up within fifteen minutes to walk me through it. No big deal, but it’s those little moments that make the difference between a decent stay and one you’d actually recommend to friends. The location works really well if you like being able to walk places – there’s a proper grocery store about three blocks down, and you’re close enough to the main area that you don’t need to plan your whole day around getting back. Parking can be a bit tricky during busy times, but there’s usually something within a block or two if you don’t mind a short walk.

Honestly, the 8.4 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve been there. It’s not going to wow you with marble lobbies or fancy amenities, but everything just… works. The kind of place where you settle in after the first night and start thinking “yeah, I could definitely stay here again.” If you’re the type who needs a concierge and daily housekeeping, this probably isn’t your speed. But if you want a comfortable base with enough space to spread out and the freedom to come and go as you please – well, that’s exactly what you’ll get.
