Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about Tyzenhauz Apartments on Ariańska? The name makes it sound way more formal than it actually is. I mean, when I first walked up to this place in Grzegórzki, I was expecting something stuffy and corporate, but it’s honestly got this relaxed, lived-in vibe that just works. The building sits on a quiet stretch where you can actually hear yourself think – which is saying something for Krakow these days.

The apartments themselves are properly spacious, not those cramped hotel boxes where you’re bumping into furniture every five minutes. Each one feels like someone actually lives there, with real kitchens you can cook in and enough room to spread out your stuff without creating chaos. The whole setup is perfect if you’re staying more than a couple nights or traveling with family – I watched kids running around the hallways and nobody seemed stressed about it. What really won me over was how they’ve managed to keep that old Krakow character in the details (the original windows, some beautiful old molding) while making sure everything actually functions properly. The wifi doesn’t cut out every ten minutes, the shower pressure is decent, and honestly, the beds are more comfortable than what I’ve got at home.

Location-wise, you’re in Grzegórzki, which locals know is where you go when you want to be close to everything without paying Old Town prices or dealing with those crowds of tourists taking selfies at 7 AM. It’s maybe a fifteen-minute walk to the main square – totally doable even if you’re not a big walker – and there’s this great little route through Planty park that makes it feel like a proper Krakow experience rather than just getting from point A to point B. The trams run right nearby too, which is clutch if you’re planning day trips or just don’t feel like walking. What I really appreciated was having actual grocery stores and cafes in the neighborhood where locals go, not just the tourist traps. There’s this bakery about two blocks away that does incredible zapiekanka – way better than anything you’ll find near the Cloth Hall, and half the price too. The only minor thing is that parking can be a bit tricky if you’re driving, but honestly, you probably don’t need a car anyway. The 8.9 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but everything works exactly like it should, the staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay smooth, and you get way more space and value than you’d expect from a four-star place in this part of the city.

The luxury concierge service in Krakow offers personalized access to private royal collections, traditional Polish dining, and VIP cultural experiences in this historic Polish jewel.

Reviews

  • Sweet and quiet, close to the old town – Anna from Lithuania – July 27, 2025 (10/10)

Nice quiet studio. Close to the old market, train station, mall, cafes and small supermarkets. It is well equipped and has almost everything needed for a short stay. The guest service was sweet and helped us promptly with a small issue we had.

What could be improved: The parking was pretty unusual, looked like a 2 level system, where one car parks above the other car, so it only can fit a very small car. For that reason we couldn’t use it, but the limitation was mentioned in the description, so we kinda knew it in advance. However, the street parking around the block provided some paid parking spots, so we managed to leave the car right in front the entrance.

  • Definitely hidden jam, can’t wait to come back! Highly recommended – Mariana from Ukraine – April 6, 2025 (10/10)

It was very nice apartment with perfect location, parking and all necessary staff for living during the whole week. Also instructions for check in was very detailed and easy to understand.

  • Exceptional – Piotr from United Kingdom – November 13, 2024 (10/10)

Good value for money, great facilities and a location.

    What could be improved: N/A

  • Exceptional – Monika from Poland – July 7, 2024 (10/10)

Great service! The apartment was really beautiful and had all facilities that I needed, just top!

  • Good option. – Anna from Canada – June 25, 2024 (8/10)

Confortable beds, great location, garage, easy access, accommodations. Coffee tea. Washing machine with laundry powder. Superbe view. Tranquility.

What could be improved: Communication was difficult with the owners, needed to search and look for garage and recycling, bathroom ventilation wasn't working, umbrella was a great idea but it was broken, no scissors. Cupboard with empty spices containers.

  • Apartment in Krakow – András from Hungary – August 18, 2023 (9/10)

    Modern, compact, cozy, comfortable, tidy

What could be improved: We missed the air conditioning 🙂
    But everything else was fine!

  • Very Good – Luca from United Kingdom – February 9, 2025 (8/10)

Nice cosy place close to central and square and shoppings. The only problem we had was the city dust in the apartment as me and my son and I are allergic. we struggle a little bit with the dust.
Place was equipped with everything we needed.
Not much can watch TV as it is only basic chanels and sometimes had problems with signals.

What could be improved: Close to square,
    Warmth,
And generally good as comes with parking space in basement.

  • Good apartment with parking near the center – Iva2 from Slovakia – December 8, 2024 (8/10)

Nice apartment about 15 minutes on foot to the historical center. Quite well equiped, coffe/tea in the room. Parking in the garage right under the building – you can get to the apartment by lift. There is a multiparking system so be carreful about the car height. Good heating in winter.

What could be improved: There is no classic bed, only 2 sofa beds – you have prepare them yourself as a bed. They could be cleaned better. There was a smoking smell in the corridor and also strong smell of spices inside the apartment. There were no big towels for shower, only 4 standard size towels.

  • Exceptional – Sylwia from United Kingdom – October 13, 2024 (10/10)

I visited in October and the property was really warm, which I can’t say about previous locations that I stayed at. The place has everything you need, it looks modern and is fairly clean ( floor made my white socks dirty so I guess that could be improved but I am a cleaning freak)

What could be improved: All great, loved it and would stay again

  • Alright. – E from Singapore – January 3, 2024 (8/10)

    + Good location.
    + Clean and modern apartment.
+ Underground assigned parking lot. (Note that the space is rather tight and we saw some wall edges busted by cars. There is a lift system so that two cars can park stacked in the same parking lot. We were unfamiliar with such lifts and it took us some minutes to figure out how to operate them.)
+ Love the smell of the toiletries.

What could be improved: – The blinds on the windows were very difficult to pull up and down. The "twist stick" on some of them had detached and we had to climb on chairs to reach the mechanism to change the slit angle. The slits also allowed a lot of light to come into the apartment, which I imagine would be a big problem in summer.
    – The shower heads were not very good. At our preferred water pressure, the sprays were a bit painful.
    – It was the most expensive apartment we rented in Poland, but also the smallest.
