You know what? When I first pulled up to the Tyzenhauz Apartments on Lobzowska Street, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place – but honestly, this spot surprised me in all the right ways. The building has that classic Krakow charm without trying too hard, and you can tell they’ve put thought into making it actually livable rather than just Instagram-ready. The entrance feels more like walking into a well-kept residential building than a touristy hotel, which I mean, is exactly what you want when you’re staying somewhere for more than a night or two.

What really struck me about this place is how they’ve nailed the apartment-style setup without skimping on the hotel conveniences. The kitchenette actually works (I made proper coffee every morning, not just instant stuff), and there’s enough counter space to spread out if you grab groceries from the Biedronka down the street. The Wi-Fi is solid throughout – I was working from the couch without any dropped calls, which honestly can’t be said for some fancier places I’ve stayed. The rooms feel lived-in in a good way, like someone’s stylish aunt decorated them rather than a corporate committee. And here’s something you don’t always get in apartment-hotels: proper daily housekeeping that doesn’t feel intrusive.

Lobzowska Street itself is one of those perfectly positioned spots that locals love but tourists haven’t completely discovered yet. You’re close enough to walk to the Old Town when you want that postcard experience, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with hen parties stumbling past your window at 2 AM. There’s this fantastic little bakery about three blocks over that opens ridiculously early – perfect if you’re jet-lagged and craving real Polish pastries. The tram connections are actually better than being right in the center; you can hop on and be at Wawel Castle in fifteen minutes, or head the other direction to explore some of the newer districts that most visitors miss entirely. Parking was surprisingly straightforward too, which anyone who’s driven in European city centers will appreciate. That 8.4 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but everything just works the way it should, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

  There is an elevator to the apartment (3rd floor) that can help people that find it difficult to climb to the 3rd floor. Altogether, we strongly recommend this apartment that is located just 10 minutes walk from the old city of Krakow.
