Tyzenhauz Apartments Pawia Street Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Tyzenhauz Apartments Pawia Street on a quiet morning in Kraków, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from what looked like a typical Old Town building. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that surprise you. This three-star property sits right on Pawia Street, and I mean right in the thick of everything — you’re literally steps away from the main square, but tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with constant tourist chaos outside your window.

The Perfect Old Town Spot

Here’s the thing about location — everyone says their hotel is centrally located, but this place actually delivers on that promise. I could walk to the Main Market Square in about three minutes, maybe four if I stopped to grab coffee along the way. The train station is close enough that you won’t need a taxi with heavy luggage, and honestly, being on Pawia Street puts you right where you want to be without the premium prices of staying directly on the square itself. Couples seem to get this — they’re rating the location almost perfect, and I can see why.

The Apartment Experience

What I really appreciated about my apartment was how it felt like staying in someone’s well-maintained city flat rather than a generic hotel room. The space had character — high ceilings, original details mixed with modern updates that actually worked well together. The kitchen was compact but functional, which came in handy when I wanted to grab groceries from the nearby market and have breakfast without rushing out. I mean, there’s something nice about making your morning coffee while planning your day in Kraków’s Old Town.

Practical Details That Matter

The building itself has that old European charm, but don’t worry — everything works properly. Hot water, reliable Wi-Fi, and the heating was consistent during my stay in early spring when the weather was still pretty unpredictable. Parking can be tricky in this part of the city (as it is anywhere in the Old Town), but the staff gave me solid advice about nearby options. What impressed me most was how quiet it stayed at night, despite being so central — the windows must be well-insulated because I barely heard the street noise.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t a place that’s going to wow you with fancy amenities or a grand lobby. What it does well is give you a comfortable, authentic base in one of Europe’s most beautiful historic centers. The value is excellent for what you get — I’ve paid more for less desirable locations in other cities. The fact that it consistently gets such high ratings tells you something about how well they’ve figured out what travelers actually want: a clean, comfortable place to stay that doesn’t eat up your entire budget, right where you want to be. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

Great location just opposite the main station and a 5 mins walk to the Barbican gate to the old town. Quiet due to it facing the inner courtyard. Staff really responsive and helpful.

Clean and modern design inside apartment. Great location ( just 2 minutes walk from the shopping mall and train station). Good and quick communication with owner.

  • Yiu from Hong Kong (8/10)

The location is excellent ONLY around 7 mins to Station. But the main door is very hard to find It is located in the very old building and there is only a signage of a hostel outside the building ( the upper level is a hostel). Inside the apartment is fully renovated which is nice however as other guests commented there is a smell not sure it is from the sewage or the drain from bathroom. U can really smell it once u step in living room. Apart from the overall is good Bed and linen are very soft and comfy.
