Tyzenhauz Grand Apartaments Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Tyzenhauz Grand Apartaments feels like discovering one of Krakow’s best-kept secrets. This three-star property sits right on Marszałka Józefa Piłsudskiego street, and I mean literally in the heart of Old Town — you can’t get more central than this. The building has that classic Polish elegance without being stuffy, and honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering. The attention to detail in the design reflects the hotel’s commitment to providing guests with an authentic yet comfortable stay.
The Perfect Base
You know what struck me most? How couples seem to absolutely love this place — they’re rating the location a perfect 10 for romantic getaways, and I totally get why. You’re steps away from the Main Market Square, but tucked just enough off the main tourist drag that you won’t hear street performers at midnight. The Old Town’s cobblestone streets are right outside your door, which means you can wander to Cloth Hall or St. Mary’s Basilica in about three minutes flat. I actually timed it because I’m weird like that. This positioning offers the best of both worlds for travelers seeking immersion in Krakow’s historic charm.
The Apartment Experience
Each apartment here feels more like staying at a well-connected friend’s place than a typical hotel room. The spaces are thoughtfully designed with that European flair — high ceilings, original details, but updated with modern touches that actually work. What I appreciated most was having a proper kitchen setup, which is perfect when you want to grab fresh bread from the local bakery and have breakfast without rushing. The apartments vary in layout since each unit has its own character, but that’s part of the charm honestly. This flexibility in design ensures that every guest finds accommodations suited to their specific needs and preferences.
Living Like a Local
The neighborhood vibe is something special — you’re surrounded by authentic Polish cafes and small shops that locals actually frequent. There’s this little pierogi place around the corner that I stumbled upon, and the woman running it didn’t speak much English but made the best dumplings I had in Poland. The Planty gardens are literally a two-minute walk when you need some green space, and the Jewish Quarter is close enough for an easy evening stroll. Having parking sorted in this area is actually a minor miracle, so that’s a real plus if you’re driving. The surrounding area truly captures the essence of what makes Krakow such a compelling destination.
Why Guests Love It
With a 9.3 rating and that impressive 9.2 location score, this place clearly hits the mark for most visitors. I think it’s because you get that authentic Krakow experience without sacrificing comfort — you’re living in the city rather than just visiting it. The value is solid for what you get, especially considering you’re paying Old Town prices but getting apartment-style space and amenities. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself planning your next trip back to Krakow before you’ve even checked out. Guests consistently praise the balance between accessibility and genuine local atmosphere that defines the property.

The apartment was amazing. Much bigger than I had anticipated. There were three of us so having our own space and bathroom was a real luxury. We all slept very well in the comfy beds. We all loved the decor and felt at home. We would definitely return.

Apartment 3 was huge! Beds were soft but surprisingly comfortable. Great facilities in the apartment – cafetière, coffee machine, hairdryer, iron, toiletries etc. 10/15 min walk into the main square. Small shop just a few steps down the road. Host very responsive.
