You know what struck me first about the Venetian House Market Square Aparthotel? It’s actually right there in the name – this place really does feel like you’re staying in someone’s beautifully renovated Venetian home rather than some corporate hotel chain. The moment you walk through those heavy wooden doors (and I mean heavy – they’ve got that satisfying thunk when they close behind you), you’re hit with this perfect blend of old-world charm and modern comfort that honestly made me do a little double-take.

The aparthotel sits right on Market Square, which means you’re basically in the thick of everything without dealing with the tourist-trap chaos of some other areas. I mean, step outside and you’ve got the morning market vendors setting up their stalls – the smell of fresh bread and coffee hits you around 7 AM, which is either the perfect wake-up call or slightly annoying if you’re trying to sleep in. The building itself has these gorgeous arched windows that let in incredible light during the day, and the rooms – well, they’re proper apartments with kitchenettes that actually work. I’ve stayed in plenty of places where the “kitchenette” is basically a mini-fridge and a prayer, but here you can legitimately cook a meal if you want to save some euros or just can’t face another restaurant dinner.

What really sets this place apart though is how the staff seems to genuinely know the neighborhood. When I asked about avoiding the crowds at nearby attractions, the front desk guy (Marco, I think?) gave me this whole insider route that took me through these quiet side streets I never would’ve found on my own. The 4-star rating feels spot-on – it’s not trying to be some luxury palace, but everything works properly and the attention to detail is there. The Wi-Fi actually works in every corner (tested it extensively while working from the little desk by the window), the shower has proper pressure, and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a jet engine. Small things, but you know how these details can make or break a trip. The 9.1 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there a few days – it’s that sweet spot where you feel like you’re living in the city rather than just visiting it, and honestly, that’s exactly what you want from an aparthotel experience.
