Vienna House Easy by Wyndham Cracow Overview
You know what struck me first about the Vienna House Easy? It’s actually in this really interesting spot in Grzegórzki that most tourists don’t even know exists. I mean, everyone talks about staying right in the Old Town, but honestly – this place gets you the best of both worlds without the constant parade of tour groups outside your window.
The building itself sits on Przy Rondzie, and if you’re wondering about that street name, well, it literally means “by the roundabout.” Pretty straightforward, right? But here’s the thing – that roundabout is actually your gateway to everything. You can walk to the main square in about 15 minutes (I timed it), or hop on the tram that stops basically at the hotel’s doorstep. The locals use this area as their shortcut to avoid the crowded Planty park route, so you’ll see more Polish faces than camera-wielding visitors on your morning coffee runs.
What really won me over was how the staff just… gets it. Check-in was refreshingly quick – none of that drawn-out spiel about amenities you can figure out yourself. The rooms are exactly what you’d expect from a solid 3-star place, but with these little touches that show someone was actually thinking. The soundproofing is surprisingly good (crucial when you’re near a busy street), and the beds are firm enough that you won’t wake up feeling like you slept in a hammock. I stayed during a particularly rainy October week, and the heating worked perfectly – sounds basic, but you’d be amazed how many places get this wrong.
The breakfast situation deserves a mention too. It’s not going to blow your mind, but there’s proper Polish oscypek cheese alongside the usual European hotel spread, and the coffee is actually drinkable. They seem to understand that travelers want fuel, not Instagram moments. Plus, the dining area gets this lovely morning light that somehow makes even the most basic scrambled eggs look appealing.
Here’s something I really appreciated – the neighborhood comes alive in the evenings with locals heading to the small bars and restaurants tucked into the side streets. There’s this fantastic pierogi place about three blocks down that I never would have found if I’d been staying in the tourist bubble. The hotel’s location puts you right in the middle of real Krakow life, but you can still be at Wawel Castle in twenty minutes if you want your dose of medieval architecture.
Parking is straightforward if you’re driving (and cheaper than city center options), though honestly, once you’re here, you probably won’t need your car much. The tram connections are solid, and walking through Grzegórzki to reach the main attractions gives you a much better feel for how this city actually works beyond the postcard views.
Look, it’s not luxury – it’s a 3-star hotel that knows exactly what it is and does it really well. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need, especially when you’re spending most of your time exploring one of Europe’s most beautiful cities anyway.

My friends and I stayed at the Vienna House Easy by Wyndham for three nights while attending a nearby convention. Overall, the experience was fairly pleasant, with a few hiccups along the way.
The room itself was cozy and nicely decorated, and we especially appreciated the comfortable beds—probably one of the highlights of our stay. That said, we did notice a few small things that could be improved. For instance, the room didn’t include a fridge, which made it a bit tricky to store drinks, snacks, or medicine. The air conditioning worked, though it was on the older side and took quite a while to cool the space.
Cleanliness-wise, the room was in decent shape upon arrival. There was a noticeable smell at first, but once we aired it out by opening the window, it quickly disappeared and wasn’t an issue for the rest of the stay.
On our last day—Sunday—we encountered a bit of confusion regarding check-out. When we checked in, we were told by staff that check-out would be at 1 p.m., so we planned around that. However, around noon, housekeeping entered briefly and then we received a call from reception saying check-out was actually at 11 a.m. Although we weren’t shown any check-out time on the keycard information, we understand that miscommunications can happen. The staff at the desk seemed a bit surprised by our claim, but we quickly gathered our things and checked out.
After returning later to collect our bags, we were informed that the hotel had discovered some stains—a pillowcase and a small blue mark on the carpet. This came as a surprise, as we weren’t aware of any damage, nor did we have anything with us that might have caused it. We followed up with the hotel by email to clarify the situation, and they responded with an apology and assured us they would conduct an internal review to better understand what happened.
All in all, while there were a few bumps, we still appreciated the comfortable accommodation and convenient location. We’re hopeful the hotel continVery good value and very well located. – Enrique from Germany – July 17, 2025 (8/10)
