Vintage Rakowicka Apartment Overview

You know what struck me first about the Vintage Rakowicka Apartment? It’s tucked away on this quiet stretch of Rakowicka Street where you can actually hear yourself think – which, honestly, is pretty rare when you’re staying in Krakow’s Old Town. I mean, you’re still close enough to walk to the Main Square in maybe ten minutes, but you’re not dealing with the constant buzz of tourists and street performers that comes with staying right in the thick of things.

The apartment itself has this really nice balance between old Krakow charm and actually functioning like a modern place to stay. The vintage touches aren’t just thrown in there for Instagram – they feel authentic, like someone who actually lives in the city put thought into how the space should work. The kitchen’s got everything you need if you want to grab some pierogi from the market and heat them up (though let’s be honest, you’ll probably end up eating out most nights anyway). What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – the building’s got thick walls, and since Rakowicka isn’t a main thoroughfare, you’re not getting woken up by delivery trucks at 6 AM like you would closer to the market square.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re staying in a real neighborhood instead of a tourist bubble. There’s this great little café about two blocks down that locals actually go to, and you’re walking distance from both the Jewish Quarter in Kazimierz and all the main Old Town attractions. Plus – and this might sound boring but it matters – there’s decent parking nearby if you’re driving, which is basically impossible to find closer to the center. The whole setup just works well for people who want to experience Krakow without feeling like they’re staying in a hotel lobby that could be anywhere in Europe. With a 9.2 rating, you can tell other travelers figured this out too, but it hasn’t gotten so popular that it’s lost that local feel.

Hotels near me in Krakow offer convenient access to the medieval center, where guests can easily walk to St. Mary’s Basilica, Cloth Hall, and traditional Polish restaurants.

Reviews of Vintage Rakowicka Apartment

  • Great apartment and great location. – Jill from Ireland – July 14, 2025 (10/10)

Brilliant location very close to the train station. The apartment had everything you needed for a stay and was very modern and clean. Very safe complex and a nice balcony to sit out on. About a 20-minute walk to the old town, which was perfect.

What could be improved: No complaints.

  • Worth the money the the tenant offers – Svitlana from Poland – June 27, 2025 (8/10)

Location. Smooth check in. Clear guidance on what and how to use.

What could be improved: The wifi was always kicking me out and I had to use my hotspot mostly
The mattresses in the bedroom are off. I’d suggest changing them

  • Exceptional – Юлія from United Kingdom – December 11, 2022 (10/10)

What could be improved: 1) The curtains don't completely cover the window. 2) There was no sharp knife.
    3) The pillows were not very comfortable.

  • Wonderful – Jaroslav from Czech Republic – February 27, 2025 (9/10)

Perfectly located apartment near the railway station and about 10 – 15 minutes walk from the main square. It was hard to find the right entrance and the parking, but we've quickly got accustomed.

  • Great location and parking, average apartment – Monta from Latvia – September 24, 2024 (7/10)

It was easy to get to the location and get the keys. The location of the apartment is great – very close to the old town and we absolutely loved the car park option – since it wasn't at extra cost and it was an underground parking right underneath the building. We also really liked the communication with the host. Since there was no one staying in the apartment before us – we got an earlier check-in which was very nice.

What could be improved: Everything was great apart from the apartment itself. It was clean and it was beautiful, but we felt like we've had to take everything with us to stay at the apartment. Not used to it anymore. Maybe 10 years ago it would've been understandable, but now it seems ridiculous – if you choose an apartment accommodation that you have to take your own laundry liquid (they had a washing machine), your own cooking oil, coffee (seemed like they have a place for ground coffee, but no one had bothered to fill it up for us). We were 2 adults and a child staying at the apartment and there was only 2 proper blankets and pillows. They had some extra fleece blankets, which was fine for us, but it could be a problem. Also, even though the neighbourhood is quiet – you can hear the other apartments and most of all – if somebody is cooking – you can smell what they're cooking. We had a good laugh about it, but again – someone more sensitive to smells might've had a problem with it.

  • Exceptional – Katarzyna from Poland – August 12, 2025 (10/10)
