The 9.1 rating makes total sense because whoever runs this place gets the details right: proper blackout curtains (crucial for those summer white nights), a kitchen that’s actually functional if you want to grab groceries from the Cloth Hall market, and Wi-Fi that doesn’t cut out every five minutes.

What really sets this spot apart is the location knowledge you get just by staying here. You’re maybe a three-minute walk from St. Mary’s Basilica – close enough that you can pop over for the hourly trumpet call without planning your whole day around it. The building’s positioned so you can duck down these little side streets most tourists never find, like the path that leads to that tiny wine bar near Grodzka Street (locals will know the one). Parking’s always a nightmare in Old Town, but there’s actually a decent garage about two blocks away, and the host gives you proper directions, not just “park somewhere nearby.” I stayed here during shoulder season, so it was quieter, but even then you could feel the energy of the area – students from Jagiellonian University cutting through, early morning bread deliveries to the cafes below, that sort of authentic city rhythm. The apartment feels solid and established, like it’s been welcoming travelers for years but hasn’t gotten jaded about it. Plus, honestly, having a 4-star place right in Old Town at this location – you’re usually looking at either budget hostels or those massive chain hotels that could be anywhere in Europe.
